Quote:The consistent bashing of USF kills me too. I haven't seen anything as of yet to make me believe UCF has a better program and then to say that "USF is not worthy of comparison"? Some of the UCF fans need to get a grip and realize where your program stands. Are you making moves hell yes, but don't act like you've been there before and are better than USF and especially Syracuse. Plus Galahad was trying to make it seem like UCF was too good for the Big East and that the school had bigger fish to fry. I was laughing my azz off. The SEC and ACC would definitly not come knocking on the door.

If you make it down for a USF game, just drive the 15 miles to the USF campus from Raymond James. Trust me, you will realize that you are basically in the ghetto of Tampa. We UCF fans don't like to be compared to USF in anyway. Academically, UCF ranks second only to UF in freshman SAT and GPA's. You might remember the fact that USF had to clean house of their admissions department because they were changing new freshman SAT scores.

I don't think UCF is to good for the Big East, I just don't see the benefit for UCF to want to get into the Big East. I don't think bringing in teams like Pitt, Rutgers or Cuse will help UCF in anyway. The following is just not that good in the area, just look at what USF got for those games, first you have to divide their number in half, but there is something to be said about geography.

I keep up with C-USA actively. I don't particularly like the make up now. I agree it is to spread out. I thinks it's trying to become a western conference. I don't like that. I really like S. Miss, ECU, Tulane and Memphis. I like to see Marshall doing well. I also like to watch Tulsa. I could care less about the other teams. I think C-USA will be further weakened in the future by more expansion. I think they'll lose UTEP to the MWC. I think they will lose ECU, Memphis and UCF to the Big East.

not in a southern conference
All of you UCF fans saying you want to be in a Southern conference don't get it. You are not in a Southern conference. You are in a Texas conference. The Big East would be much better for you so you need to stop bashing the Big East.

Your closest opponent in CUSA is UAB. They are not exactly that close to you. Then you have Southern Miss and Memphis and Tulane. They are still quite a drive for you. It's not like they are just over the bridge from you or something.

Compare that to being in the Big East with rivalry opponent USF. Much closer than UAB. Louisville and Cincinnati are comparable to Memphis and Southern Miss in distance. And at least people have heard of the other Big East schools.
_______________

BIG EAST: Connecticut, Syracuse, Rutgers, Pitt, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Louisville, USF, UCF.

CONFERENCE USA EAST: Marshall, East Carolina, Memphis, UAB, Southern Mississippi, Tulane.

CONFERENCE USA WEST: Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, Southern Methodist, UTEP, Houston, Rice.

You don't think that UCF is to good for the big east but you dropped this wonderful gem "I don't think bringing in teams like Pitt, Rutgers or Cuse will help UCF in anyway." It helps teams like UofL and Cincy(better programs) but would just destroy UCF? So playing these teams makes UCF that much better Rice, Tulane, SMU, Houston, UTEP?Please, theres not alot of PItt, Syracuse, or Rutgers alumni in the Lou metro, we draw fans regardless of who we play. You just killed your whole argument with that dumb sh!t.

Syracuse, Rutgers, and Pitt are three of the best unversities academically and they are all much more prestigious than UCF. Damn I'm so pissed to be grouped in with those schools(sarcasm), our fans won't show up because Pitt and CUSE are on the schedule.LOL But yet your fans think you guys are toogood for schools like this and wouldn't show up to see them play UCF? If you have die hard fans they will show up to see whoever you play. These are the type of comments that kill me. I guess the Big East will go to hell now that UCF is to good to play the likes of us. Must of thought the same way about WVU when your AD bailed out on them. You have zero chance of getting into a BCS conference outside of the big east and your chance is not that high of getting into this conference. ?our ceiling is limited in CUSA. Thats reality!!!!!!!

Your right playing the big east schools has done nothing for UofL and we should of never left CUSA. We just loved playing in all those empty arenas and stadiums. Did I mention playing in the best basketball league sucks too? The BCS check isn't all that hot either, I'm telling you I don't even know why we would even bother playing a team like syracuse who historically is much more highly regarded than we our in football. Going to play at Heinz field is also something i'm really not looking forward to. The networking for our academic programs with great schools like Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, Providence, and etc does nothing for our academics. Like I said we should of just stayed in CUSA(sarcasm). 03-yawn

As I said, I am not bashing the Big East. I have much respect for WVU and I admire what UL has accomplished without the BCS tag. I have no respect for Pitt just yet, but that has more to do with their head coach than anything else. Cuse, well Cuse has a great histroy, but I was never one to believe history will do anything for you today. Today's college football is completely different than when Cuse used to dominate. Now Cuse has no advantage over many smaller schools because facilities are as good or better at those schools and lets be honest, there are ten times more options to stay in the warmer locations and still play Div 1 football than there was back in the day for Cuse.

I can't speak for other teams, but UCF has one hell of a traveling fan base. I have traveled to WVU, Cuse, UGA, Ole Miss, Bama, Nebraska, UF, FSU, GT, USC and many many more. I grew up going to Gator games and I can tell you that the game on the field is only half the experiance of what college football is all about, as many of you will know. I don't believe that Cuse, Pitt, Rutgers amongst others have that buzz around Saturdays in the fall. Its not bashing, its what I have witnessed and I am not just talking about UCF games. I went to the Cuse/FSU game a couple years ago, there was no tailgating anywhere to be seen.

I understand that CUSA is not a pure southern league, but don't tell me that Texas is not as crazy about college football as Florida is. No, the big east is a fine conference, with some great teams with a boat load of history, but its just not what I think of when I think of college football.

Yes, considering we have sold out our allotment of tickets to FSU, UF, UGA, Auburn, Bama, Nebraska, USC, GT amongst others. We traveled over 5,000 to Nebraska, 6,000 to FSU as a 1-aa team. Hell, we travled over 13,000 to USF last year. I am willing to bet USF does not travel half that number.

Everyone sells out their allotment to those games. When you sell out your allotment to an ECU game or a Memphis game, then I think you might have a point. What does USF have to do with this anyway?
