NIU to Mobile versus ASU.
If this should actually play out, maybe ASU would be willing to swap with us?

There is no thought put into these projections past bcs games and a couple others.

I can tell. I cant decide which was more odd...Troy to Shreveport, or Notre Dame to Detroit.

Notre Dame would sit out of the bowls before going to play a MAC team in Detroit.

No offense, but if we don't go to a BCS bowl then i hope we go to Poinsettia or get swapped for a game against a BCS team.

I don't blame ya, but understand that the Go Daddy Bowl didn't sign a backup contract with the MAC, they signed a full contract. What's in it for them if the MAC simply takes any good team that might be slotted for the bowl and shops them?

Don't we all. The problem is that most P5 teams want nothing to do with the rest of us.

A weak P5 teams wants nothing to do with an NIU. Hell a moderately strong P5 teams wants nothing to do with NIU. That pretty much sums up the P5 teams that won't be in a much higher tiered bowl game.

NIU has a pretty long shot that the Fresno team will stumble. So get used to a week end in Mobile second to last game of the year.

No offense but the MAC has more than one good team to offer the Go Daddy: Ball State, Toledo, BG, Buffalo. All quality MAC teams that are just as capable of winning the Go Daddy as NIU. If NIU goes 13 - 0 and gets left out of BCS games, you are delusional to think the MAC won't try to find them the best game possible. Even if that game ends up being playing someone like Boise in San Diego or Notre Dame in Detroit.

Notre Dame would not take a Detroit spot to play NIU...that idea is laughable.

Nothing against you guys...but most Belt teams would love a shot at NIU. To be the best, you have to beat the best. That sort of thing.

I have nothing but respect for NIU and what they've accomplished these last few years. I'd love to see the Cajuns play them in a bowl game.

But from the little I know about their program, the Big Ten? Seriously? Is anyone in the Big Ten discussing this option?

NIU has a tiny athletic budget, small market (you're not in Chicago), small stadium, small university endowment and bad basketball...I wish them nothing but luck in the MAC, but they don't belong in the Big 10.

Sorry I should have used my smart ass button or this01-wingedeagle01-wingedeagle when I posted my comment above....This NIU poster who came over thinks he too good for everyone in the G5....Just because NIU has had two really good seasons, one in which they got destroyed in Orange Bowl, they all of sudden act like they are world beaters..You had your chance last season and did not even belong on a thread of the same football field vs. FSU....See how they are next season after Lynch graduates...

------Is there any possible way that the Huskies would come to NO and bring 5-10 with UL's 50K and play in the NO Bowl??? Boy what a matchup against a 10-2 Ragin' Cajun team---It hasn't been done but if the gods keep it going --I would live to see Lynch!!!
