Confirmed that officials for both the New Orleans and Go Daddy Bowls will be in Jonesboro next weekend for the ASU/Texas State game.

What if let's say utsa were to become bowl eligible (one win away) and it ends up being Texas state vs utsa in the New Orleans one?? Considering ULL gets a bigger and more mighty bowl (well deserved). That would be a great story line. Two new fbs teams and big time rivals at that. Both would travel well to new Orleans. Hey, its okay to imagine right??

UTSA is not bowl eligible this season. There would have to be a meteor strike that destroys several college football towns for UTSA to be bowl eligible.

LOL, nUTSAck getting a bowl is almost as funny as them proving how weak C-USA is by being 4-2 in conference.04-chairshot03-nutkick

UTSA can only make a bowl if there aren't enough teams eligible and they are the only ones left. Same boat we were in last year and I'm sure App and GaSo will be next year.

If the situation were to work out (not this year, as it appears there will be more bowl eligible teams than bowls) where Texas State faced UTSA in a bowl game... We'd put together great numbers.

NOLA bowl would be a good location, but Heart of Texas would be even better.

Ha I would think we would need to play more than once to be considered big time rivals no matter how hard UTSA may try to force a rivalry on us.

It's obvious that both schools want the rivalry to continue in football, but nUTSAck's Athletic department wants to be greedy A$$holes and play every game in the Alamodome with each team alternating being home team.

That was based on their assumptions of 50k attendance, which hasn't happened.

Now that they have more data (I don't think the 25k will be the average once they get up to speed... But I don't think it will be at the 50k they were at in the first 2 years either... somewhere in the middle), they should be ok with home and home series.

But really, since their OOC is booked pretty full until like 2019, it doesn't matter. They won't be playing us for a while anyway.

I doubt it. If the AD is as arrogant as their fans then we wont be playing them for a long time after their OOC is opened up. (I say this after reading a lot of posts by nUTSAck fans on other forums about how they are too good to play us, and that we are weaker than them and don't deserve a bowl game over them. lol) 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Their AD is a superstar. She's done a great job with them in San Antonio, and is really showing Georgia Southern & App State how best to market a newly FBS program.

She's arrogant, but she's earned the right to be arrogant.

The fans? Well, they are fans. We have our share of arrogant ones as well.

I personally don't care if we continue to play UTSA, they are doomed to be mediocre because of the UT in front of their name. The fans are only arrogant because they have not had the chance to taste the bitterness of a history of bad seasons. As they get more established and have to start fighting with UT for recruits to sustain a quality competitive program reality will set in fast that they will forever be a feeder to UT just like UTEP or UAB for Alabama. They had a great start but if next years recruiting class for UTSA doesn't drastically improve on national signing day and if it is something that will continue in the future then they are in serious trouble. http://utsa.247sports.com/Season/2014-Football/Commits

It ain't happenin' this year. TXST is Bowl Eligible, period. If we get a bowl we'll be lucky. UTSA can get 6 wins but you aren't going unless they can't fill the 70 slots with other teams. We would be one of those other teams, sitting at 6-6, that would be ahead in the pecking order.

It's just the way it is.

That stated, best of luck the last 2 games. Show 'em what TX teams are made of.

BEAUTIFUL !!! 04-bow04-bow

For the record, I DO want to play 'em . . . and often .. . because of our proximity, and natural hatred for each other . . . this would be great for both schools . . . .
