Now that is what I am talking about!

Still cant figure out how NIU and Fresno are ahead of UCF, they may be undefeated but to garbage teams. All I can do is shake my head

RE: Week 12 BCS UCF # 17 UofL #20
Cincinnati just jumped like 40 spots after beating SMU (3-5) by 3 points. Goes to show how much power the human voters really have in this system. Not that the computers don't matter but obviously once you get in and around the top 25 the humans really decide who goes where. Turns out we have had a selection committee this whole time. Just getting streamlined a bit. And those pesky computers that actually give due respect to non AQ teams can finally be gotten rid of.

For example the computers have UCF 15.5th and Louisville 34th.

Our two losses --1 point loss to 6-3 BYU, and a 5 point loss to 7-1 UCF.

Cincy's 2 losses -- 5 point loss 2-6 USF and a blowout (28 points) loss to 3-6 (winless in B1G play) Illinois.

Absolutely insane that they're ahead of us.

Interesting tweet from the Louisville Rivals site...The AAC has as many schools In the BCS Top 25 as the B1G...Also, UCF has a much stronger SOS then the two B1G schools and better than more than one would realize...04-cheers

Agreed on the voters. The week after we lost to BYU, we had 0 votes. It was said that if we would of won, we would of been ranked.

So 1 point was the difference between being ranked and having ZERO votes.

Is Fresno and NIU both end up in he top 12, does the higher ranked team go to the BCS and the other get thrown into the at large pool?

If so, I hope NIU jumps Fresno. I haven't seen NIU play this year, but I've watched Fresno 3 or 4 times, and they are garbage. They would finish 5th at best in the AAC. They probably wouldn't even get bowl eligible in any other BCS conference.

I don't want to see them ruin a BCS bowl, and lose by 60 to Baylor or someone similar.

Of the potential BCS opponents, I think Mizzou is the most ripe for the taking. Getting shipped off to the Fiesta to play Baylor would be rough going for any AAC team.

It would help the AAC's standing if Fresno were to get blown out in a BCS game and UCF win/lose a close one.

One of the computers has NIU 6th which is absurd. Houston does get UC at home in a couple weeks so both their current BCS rankings are meaningless right now. We'll see if the humans or computers are right then.

No...If UCF makes it the only option is to win that game...no moral victories for AQ Leagues....07-coffee3

Do you really care who is ranked 36th and who is ranked 40th in the BCS standings right now?? This doesn't mean anything. We play in 2 weeks, things will be settled on the field.

I count Ohio St, Michigan St, and Wisconsin for the B1G. But that's still good.

It's a shame this can't get settled on the football field.

Correct, whoever is the highest ranked in the top 12 would go and the other team could be picked as an at-large. At this point, it seems the human voters have chosen Fresno. They have them much higher ranked than NIU. We have the potential to pull away in the computer rankings with our remaining schedule, if we win out, but i'm not sure we will jump them unless the voters suddenly jump us over them. Hopefully our next three games on ESPN2 help us out.

Key word being "one". Since the high and low are thrown out that ranking counts exactly as much as my opinion. The computers as a whole have both NIU and Fresno at 14.75
