Cougar King cares about SMU enough to troll PonyFans during UH games

Sorry that Louisville is leaving the AAC. Louisville, Cincinnati, and UH go back a long time.

IRCC Cincinnati was part of the influence to integrate UH sports. The story is the Cincinnati coach remarked something like "Houston has the best all white team in the country" and then beat them by 30 points.

Southern programs were segregated when in 1964 UH recruited: Don Chaney, Elvin Hayes, and Warren McVea. This lead to a great era for UH sports.

So its good to again have an opportunity to play some old rivals.

Are all the rivalries i can think of.
All of them have died down besides L'ville.

And a lot of people would say Southern Miss was a new rival.
I would agree, every game was crazy and big ordeals for years.
USM bought shirts and had a complete white out at our game last year.
And had a crazy crowd bigger than iv ever seen them have.

I think its more of a one sided rival some what, not much effort from Memphis. Great games though, ill miss them.

The USM/Memphis football series has had 63 games dating back to 1935, followed by Ole Miss/Memphis with 59 games going back to 1921.

In 2006, 2008 and 2010, Houston was SMU's highest drawing conference game. Higher than Tulsa. Presumably because Houston has an alumni base in Dallas that attend UH-SMU games.

In 2012, Houston was SMU's 2nd highest drawing conference game. Probably because the game was a Thursday night TV game.

But ask Houston fans about SMU and I bet they say meh, whatever
