Not Much Change in Polls
Harris poll isn't out yet but here is the coaches poll. Louisville and UCF move up one spot each. Houston is getting votes to place in the 28th spot. Fresno jumps one spot while NUI stays put at 20th.

I really don't see any big gains for us. Even winning out, our best bet would be in the high teens.

UCF and UofL won't be able to break into Top10

Houston and Ball State are the only 0- or 1-loss teams not ranked in the Top 25.

Houston still isn't getting respect. Houston still has something to prove.

RE: Not Much Change in Polls
Whats up with LSU at 12? They have 2 losses to unranked teams (Ole Miss and Georgia).

If the polls are correct, UCLA and LSU should at least be reversed...UCLA has two losses to current Top 10 teams.

A little SEC bias in the polls right there.

Ball State shouldn't be ranked...they lost to North Texas and havent played NIU yet...they get to beat up on weak MAC teams in a regular basis.

I disagree completely with this statement. The last time we were ranked it was near the end of the season, so we did not have much chance to rise. Now, we have 5 more games. So you honestly think that if we win all 5 of our remaining games we won't rise higher?

Nonsense.

Not much change this week since we had a bye, but we should rise a little with a win over Houston (a loss knocks us out of top 25).

Then, if we win against Temple and Rutgers, we will be 9-1 going into our last two games.

If we win out, we will easily be in the top 15, but the only way for us to break the top 10 in final BCS standings is to win a BCS bowl.

So, why is Alabama getting more #1 votes than Oregon, Ohio State, and Florida State? Their schedules are similar and all are dominating their opponents. Baylor is going to be tested this week.

We're certainly overrated, but the two loses were both by 3 points on the road. And UCLA can't match a win like LSU's over top 10 Auburn.

UCF moved up two spots in the BCS to 21. UL dropped one spot to 20.

UCF got a hard fought win against the Bye this week and is 3-0 on the season against them.

Our average Computer Ranking is 23. Louisville's average is 27. They are 17 in 1 computer and not ranked in any of the others. As long as UCF keeps winning, the BCS standings will work themselves out.

They're getting votes. If they beat UCF or Louisville they will probably be ranked.

There isn't much to work out as far as the AAC's BCS berth. If UCF wins out or ends in a 2 way tie with UofL for the title the standings don't matter.

If there is a three way tie at 7-1 between UCF, UofL, & UH, then they'd look to the BCS standings and UofL would then get the bid barring something unforeseen happening. I'm not holding my breath for that however.

Yep. If Houston beats us this week they'll be moved up into the top 25.

Any one see that in ESPN's Power rankings they have us at 17 (16 last week) with none of their 20 voters having Louisville ranked above? Mayybe we're become ESPN's new "team".

(I can dream can't I?)

Yeah, I hear ya man, but i wouldn't bank too hard on ESPN or their analysts. Those guys are complete SEC honks, and they're fickle with anyone else outside of the SEC. Look at the rankings of the mutiple SEC teams with multiple losses that are still ranked. It's a stacked deck, but like degenerate gamblers we keep playing the game despite the house's odds.

Rankings really are irrelevant at this point for UCF, UL and Houston. Win the Conference you get the BCS birth, simple as that. No one is getting in the title picture obviously, so just let it work itself out over the next month and a half.

BCS ranking could become very relevant if there is a 3 way tie, or a 2 way tie with teams who don't play each other (like UCF and Cincinnati).

That's exactly right. There's no way we're getting into the Championship game no matter what we do. So worrying about rankings is useless. We each just want to win(and have a little luck in the case of UL) out and get that BCS bowl. That's all that matters. It will only matter if there's a three way tie. Which can happen, but the odds are against it.

While the rankings wont' matter for the BCS bid, I think the rankings matter a lot. The longer UCF stays in the polls, the better / easier the recruiting will be. Kids want to be on TV and on ranked teams.
