You take out your frustrations by peeing all over the rest of us, and then act surprised when you don't get a warm reception?
LOL.... Easy there, big guy...
#1) The world is not coming to "an end," but neither is the future at all rosy. It is just a simple fact that the teams in The American do not inspire huge interest. They didn't in CUSA, they won't going forward. Pout if you want. Delude yourself if you must. But how is a Memphis-Cincinnati match-up suddenly going to turn out huge crowds when it didn't last time?
#2) The retort was "Hey UL-UCF turned in great ratings..." At least half of that equation was "UL," who will not be here this time next year.
#3) Get over it. I am a singular UC fan, I don't speak for anyone but myself, and yeah...I despise this conference. That's life. I was glad when UC got out of CUSA v.1.0 (though I didn't hate the original CUSA), I'm not particularly happy to see most of those names now back on the schedule. Don't take that personally. Or do take it personally, I don't really care. But from my POV, we might as well go and get UAB, Southern Miss, and Army and make it complete.
Yet...you don't have to get over anything... Interesting how that works...

Can you provide a link? Funny thing is UC owned Pitt and Cuse while we were all together. wvu fans say all sorts of things about every team out there. Some great games between cincy and wvu.
Better question - what does everyone in the country think about memphis fball?

Uc did not own pitt, wvu, or syracuse their first year in the Big East. But it got better, didnt it? Give us time, we are emphasizing football more than we have in my lifetime.

You have to be some kind of stupid if you think Memphis football will not be a contender. We have played toe to toe with the the majority of the top team in this conference with true freshmen and redshirted freshmen. It is coming.

1. I'm old. 66. I don't get upset about anything. Not enough time left. I just like to tweak some message board posters, when given the chance, especially if I think what they said is goofy. This is all fun to me.
2. Mistaken identity on your part. I wasn't responding to your post. In fact, I didn't even see it before I posted. I was responding to another person's posts here, plus posts from several other UC fans in other threads.
3. Wah wah wah. You despise the conference. That's original from a UC fan.
So to make yourself feel better, you post and force the rest of us to wade through it to get to adult conversation. I don't have to get over it. I have as much right to complain about your posts as you do to post them in the first place, as long as I don't cross the AUP line, which I never try to do.
Thanks for proving my point in the end.

Yes.
I would not say that this conference is a "dumpster fire." The Big East, with all it's mismanagement and conflicting agendas... THAT was a dumpster fire.
The American just isn't exciting, inspiring, or even viable on a fiscal basis. It is, for all intents and purposes, a recapitulation of the original CUSA. Back then Southern Miss was a good team...probably a good analog to UCF. 1990's ECU was a good analog for the current Houston. Cincy is pretty much where it was in relation to the conference back then... dangerous but not really at the top level of the conference. You can take Temple for UAB, Navy for Army, etc...
My point is simply that everything that befell the original CUSA is likely to happen here. Any of the teams in this conference are only one-or-two bad coaching hires from oblivion (ala USM). Some of the teams in this conference are likely to be mired in futility like UAB. UCF and Houston will likely have good runs at dominating the conference like ECU did, but will probably suffer from coaching turnover. Our games will be fun to watch in person but will be brushed off on the national media scene. Our champion(s) will have to decide if they want to go to the "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" or whatever meager fare the conference can put together. All our teams will lose money.
That's just life. I know Memphis thinks and feels that they've stepped up, but in reality it was a lateral move for you guys. Ditto with Houston and UCF. Tulsa, considering they were in the old WAC, has probably gained a little in the overall picture. But in reality, the conference is just what it is.

Certainly nothing on a message board ( but MLB is still a douche)

With the TV contract and war chest money Memphis will make 3x more money in the AAC over CUSA.
I'd much rather play football games with Cincy, ECU, UCF, Navy, Houston, etc over playing teams like UAB, FIU, ODU, Charlotte, UNT, etc.
I'd much rather play basketball teams like UConn, Cincy, Temple, Tulsa, UCF, etc over trying to get excited about playing USM, UTEP, and UAB.
Better money...better exposure...better competition.
