It is easy to like the TxSt people. Enough pride, and humility. It will not be long before everyone fears the TxSt match ups, and that is as it should be.

Looking at the GSU game, going into the fourth quarter we had 7 TOTAL pass attempts, with 3 completions. We've had more attempts in one drive against other teams than we did in 3.5 full quarters against GSU.

In the end we were 5-11 in throwing... I think we broke NCAA record for lowest amount of passes thrown in a game.

We have played games here at Ga. Southern and won them where we did not throw a single pass.

The level of competition is good. Though we played poorly the past three weeks and got blown out only once. It's interesting to play is a league where anyone seems like they an win any week.

^this^

Pride and humility are essential to any successful venture. Too often, it's the humility that's missing.

That's the truth. Any bettor would go broke trying to run any parlays in the Sun Belt.

Georgia Southern fans must be thrilled to see an actual running team in the league. They sometimes get confused by that whole forward pass concept.

Nope, not even in the Sun Belt.

The SLC's top tier could hang with anyone, but the bottom was so dreadful (which should be a caution about adding Lamar). In the WAC, there was a wider gap between the top and bottom that doesn't exist in the SBC.

BTW, you guys make fun of GSU's attendance but San Jose was an established program and they had the same trouble.

and E. Mich had 3500 I think this week. I think we would also have trouble generating much of a following if we restarted football. metro area programs have a hard time getting many people to show up. I doubt if there are very many dfw area alumni of any sun belt school and local fans are pretty fickle. I dont foresee many people coming out to watch uta play anyone they have never heard of. we would need to schedule a cpl. games every year with a familiar opponent and use those numbers to raise our average and work on motivating the large student body we have to turn out.

The SBC has solid teams that play hard hitting football. We will have to get better to compete at the top of the SBC. How many of our teams use the pistol formation for offense?

I think you forgot about this game (don't blame you really)
Quote:It was almost like the game last October when New Mexico crushed the Bobcats despite attempting just three passes, the fewest attempts in its program’s history. The Lobos rushed for 361 yards and five touchdowns in the 35-14 win.
