UCF fans would give them a good run for the money.
It's beyond me how fans of a team that still reeks of an 0-17 losing streak and that got b!tch slapped against USF can run smack.

4) Against teams with funky schemes (ala WVU), having a big break to prepare (ala the first game) somewhat neutralizes any advantages.
3) The Herd has "been here before" and 60,000 noisemakers will not intimidate the Herd since it's one of the smaller big-OOC-road-game crowds we've faced. A strong Marshall contingent will boost morale.
2) Since this is our first full season with a new coach, and we've changed our schemes somewhat on both sides of the ball, closed practices, and confiscated the Baxter Files, WVU doesn't really know exactly what to prepare for.
1) WVU has very high preseason hopes and rankings, is coming off a huge win to end last season, and has the pressure of a "no-win" situation.
Well, how wrong can you be. Post-game analysis of my pre-game analysis -
5) Forecast rain did not happen.
4) I guess having a big break to get ready for an unusual offense only really matters if you strategize something unusual on defense to counter it. I did not see ANYTHING of that sort from Marshall even after they had run us to death for 30 minutes. We played base most of the game - I guess Snyder was happy/satisfied that we were only giving up 7 yards per carry?
3) I don't think the crowd mattered but the hype of the game may have - the frequent and costly penalties indicate that our players were less prepared mentally for this game than I expected.
2) We gained 322 yards on O and successfully used some nice new plays. Morris reinforced he is the man and ran and threw at least adequately. The offense showed flashes of - er - "goodness" (not greatness). However, we did nothing really game-changing in terms of new stuff, other than using the TE successfully more than in the past, and some nice traditional (not WR) screen passes. There was nothing new thrown at WVU that really hurt them consistently on offense, and absolutely nothing at all new on defense.
1) This obviously didn't hurt the Mounties at all. We would have needed to keep it close into the 2nd quarter - which I expected - for this to be a factor.

I couldn't agree more with you Sir Galahad you're right! With the 40 million dollar facilities upgrade, the significant money dealt out to their football coach, and the improvements being made to the campus, especially with that monsterous money that is going to be received per year thanks to the new Big East deal South Florida will be in great shape!
