Hey Tulane...Any new Stadium Pictures?
I think this is going to be HUGE for Tulane and their attendance woes. Sure I may have to take the trolley but seems well worth it. The Dome, as nice as it is, is like a tomb.
Can't wait to make the trip and check out the new digs.
Good luck the rest of the way.

Very cool! Great for Tulane!

Forgive my ignorance, but are those houses or is that Greek Row to the right of the picture?

Hoping UCF is on the 2014 schedule. Would definitely make the game if at all possible.

Those are homes. As you can imagine, they are not pleased with the construction of a stadium in their backyard, and tried fervently to stop it. That is also why the height of the stadium is somewhat limited on that side of the stadium. It tops out where the press box is: There are I think 32 rows of seats around the entire bowl, but the side with two decks looks more impressive because of the club level.

BTW, FWIW, here is a brochure for the club level:

Thanks for the info, OUGwave! 04-cheers I really hope to make the next game UCF heads up to New Orleans. Can't wait to see it!

Ironically, UCF had trouble as well with the neighborhood across the street from Brighthouse, but even then there is a good amount of space between the stadium and the development (unlike with Yulman being literally in the backyard of those houses). Now UCF can use Tulane as an example if there are any snags with future expansion! 04-bow

RE: Hey Tulane...Any new Stadium Pictures?
Tulane is using a unique product on the North, West and South sides of the stadium (about 16,000 of the seats).

It's called the Dant Clayton Hybrid Precast System, and it was first offered in 2010. The risers are part concrete, and part steel. The horizontal planks (floor) are concrete, and the vertical planks are steel. Here's a video. Dant Clayton markets it as "A concrete stadium experience on a pre-engineered bleacher budget."

Tulane is the first college football stadium to use the product.

Here's a press release with more detail.

Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Dant Clayton previously worked on Tulane's Turchin Stadium for baseball, as well as the Florida Atlantic stadium in Boca Raton. It provided the steel bleecher portion (in one end zone) of BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston where Houston and Memphis just played. Dant Clayton provided the grandstand system, aluminum bleacher seating and a custom press box for Brighthouse Stadium at UCF. They installed 37,000 chairback seats at PapaJohns. They did the aluminum end zone bleachers at Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech. They installed the bleachers at Ohio Stadium at Ohio St, Rutgers Stadium and OU's Gaylord Family Stadium

I'll say this. I like that Dant Clayton hybrid product better than the schools that went 100% steel bleacher.

IIRC from other threads, not only are those homes, those are pretty high end rich-folk homes, right? No hope of them ever aging out and being able to purchase/bulldoze. Too bad, but whatever TU is getting what it needs.

I'm really happy for you guys! What will be the starting seating capacity? I've heard 25k thrown around and I've heard 30k. Also, will it be at all possible to ever expand down the road if you needed to?

Those are near half to full million dollar homes. If I get a chance I'll take some pics this week for y'all.

Frat row is on Broadway, another block or two over. And also in fancy fancy homes. Our frats usually have 1-2 mcmansions each in Nola area. Would be cool if they had them on that st but it would NEVER happen. NIMBYs would FLIP

Im praying UCF is on Tulane's home schedule. I love new orleans and this is a guaranteed road trip every time. Woudl love to see the new stadium too, superdome was literally like watching a game in a museum.

Make noise, Greenies. Lots of noise. Maybe you can convince some of those NIMBYS to move.

They'll be fine. Even if Tulane is consistently winning, I doubt the demand for more than 30,000 seats will really be there unless they're playing an SEC or Big XII school. It's just the reality of being a small private school.

If they need more seats for a huge game against LSU or another notable program, I'm sure they can always use the Dome.
