I don't know where you guys come up with all this information but I certainly enjoy reading your posts. I'm not an expert by any standard of measure but I recognize the quality of the programs involved in these discussions. Whether these recruits opt for UConn, UofL or Memphis, they'll enjoy a top-notch basketball program. Thanks guys for some knowledgeable discussion handled in a civil manner. That's downright refreshing!

Well We will be fine regardless of what UConn does in the AAC next year when Cassell comes in.

Sam picked UCONN over Louisville, Marquette, Missouri among others. He was a former Maryland commit last year.

With Sam, UCONN got the following for 2014:

Daniel Hamilton 6'7" SG
Rakim Rubin 6'8" PF
Rodney Purvis PG/SG 6'3"
Sam Cassell Jr. PG/SG 6'3"

UCONN will have a big back court and a very strong recruiting class for 2014. Devin Robinson is still in play and he is visiting in 2 weeks.

I am pretty sure UCONN is out of Lyle's recruitment. I don't know what Ollie is thinking but the kid sounds like one of those one and done types. UCONN has never done too well with one and done players in the past and I hope we will never take Kentucky's approach in the future.

It is crazy that Andre Drummond has been UConn's only 1 and done. I like Andre since hes a Connecticut kid and was fun to watch grow up, he is also certainly always going to be a Husky but it still feels odd as a fan being used as a quick stomping ground to showcase your abilities and then moving on forever after 8 months or so. Frankly I wouldn't be upset if we never have another 1 and done. I don't know how Kentucky fans can handle it.

That could also be considered a good thing...as most one and dones don't leave with national titles...or even many times, not even conf titles.

It is a very good thing, both for college basketball and my sanity.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/high-...z2hGE5NFkj

http://www.courant.com/sports/hc-uconn-c...6772.story

He met Ollie like 10 years ago as the teammate of his dad. It is hard to beat that relationship. If he is anything like his dad, UCONN would have another great guard on hand. This is another great player UCONN took out of Maryland's backyard. The other is Rudy Gay.

Next bunch of UCONN guards will be tall. Ollie likes to run a 2 guards system like he is doing now with Boatright and Shabazz. Between Sam, Purvis and T Samuel, UCONN will have 3 guards that are in the 6'3" and 6'4" range.

This is basically Ollie's first real recruiting class and he is doing a fantastic job. The only real unknown in the class so far is Rakim Rubin. He will be playing PF and he is already 6'8" 245 lbs as a 18 years old.

From everything I've read, Lubin is ka stud despite the 3* ranking. The only real question about him is whether his back will hold up.he started lifting weights last year and that should help.

Did your insider say why? With Snider and Lyle decommitting, its a lot more plausible that Louisville had interest and backed off when it was clear SamIAmII was UConn bound.

He was "always a husky" as he was quoted today.

No scholly for Lyle now.

Its @_Drobbbb , maybe @Thatboyswift or call it a class.

Ollie has been on Robinson the longest and Robinson fits ollie's length hybrid free flow offense well. IU may have pulled ahead with the Hoosier hysteria visit and the commitment from Robinson's close friend Johnson.

Latest is that Robinson is going back and forth with the decision, Florida is a late charger.

If Purvis was actually considered a part of this class by the formal ranking systems UConn's class would already be top 15 in the country.

If Robinson does ink in Storrs, Ollie's true inaugural class (fully on contract none of this temp to perm BS) will rival any of HoF Jim Calhouns and should be considered top 5 this year.

Calhoun had a bunch of top ten classes since 2000. His 2006 class was ranked #4 in the country at the time. His 2011 class was ranked #17 based solely on Boatright and Daniels. Drummond joined too late to impact the rankings, but I've got to think he made that group a top five class.

I don't have access to recruiting rankings in the 1990's but Donyell Marshall, Rip Hamilton, and Kahlid El-Amin were all top ten recruits. Each of them were accompanied by other very good players in their recruiting classes. I have to think that any of those 3 classes was ranked very high.

1. Good get for UConn
2. It was reported before he committed about a week before his commitment to UConn that UofL had backed off for whatever reason...but really with Chris Jones, Terry Rozier, Kevin Ware, Anton Gill and Wayne Blackshear really not much room especially with Shaqquan Aaron also coming in.

We need one more Front Court player and that target is Trey Lyles...it either us or Kentucky for his services.

But Pitino said yesterday that the talent level @ National Championship level...now will they have the chemistry that they had last year...we shall see.

Just read UCONN might be done for recruiting this year. Courant is saying they are no longer recruiting Devin Robinson. This could be it for UCONN with 4 in this class.

Saw that...I'm shocked. Considering we have been on Robinson before everyone else he must have notified us he is going with IU or Florida. I cannot see a way we would no longer want him, especially considering how high his stock has risen.

Rumor has it he wants to play the 3 and we are loaded at the 3 with Hamilton, Calhoun, Daniels (maybe NBA) etc. I think Ollie sees him as more of a 3/4 hybrid. It is hard to say. I am also shocked we stopped recruiting him.

Robinson canceled his visit to UConn. Are they no longer recruiting Robinson or is he no longer interested in UConn?

He sees himself as ONLY a 3 and we didn't want him to play just that position. So our interests moved elsewhere.

I have heard that a lot. I'll buy it if he commits to Florida where he would see significant playing time at the three almost immediately. If he commits to Indiana, who is loaded with wings, I think he just lost interest in UConn.

Right - it sounds like Kansas has that position covered by another heavy lean recruit.

Not sure the report of Lyle's official to KU was even accurate to start with. At any rate, I think Alexander winds up at Kansas, and Lyle elsewhere. I think the playing together thing has already flamed out.

Both are scheduled at Memphis Madness Friday night. We'll see if both show up. I'm guessing Lyle will, but Alexander may not.
