Yeah...that was one of the reasons why the Big East Conf "race" was a joke...because with only 8 teams playing just 7 conf games, you ended up with champions like these

There's very good reasons why conf with 12 or more teams have Conf Championship Games....as they help build up Divisional Races...and then a Conf Championship Game...were only ONE team EARNS that cherished title.

Agree completely. Which is exactly why we are going to 12 in football, having a CCG starting in 2015.

Why some are debating whether it's a good idea or not is a mystery to me. It's already done.

True.

Since the SEC went to 12 teams in 1992, there is no instance of any FBS league having 12 (or more) teams without playing a CCG to determine the champion. The American will play one, too.

again....we should have a G5 Championship type game...east meets west with the winner of the AAC vs winner of the MWC. I would at least watch that.

Otherwise why risk our undefeated conference champion getting knocked out by 7-5 division winner looking for an upset? Upsets happen all the time in college football so I'd hate to put at risk the chance lose a potential conference shot at a playoff game.

I can't imagine that the TV deal starting next season didn't include stipulations for a CCG. Which, given the pittance of the deal we got probably means a CCG payout won't mean a whole monetarily for the AAC.

I've always felt that a CCG typically does more good than harm. Yeah, 2 years ago the CCG bit CUSA squarely in the a$$ when USM knocked off UH who was a lock for a BCS game had they won. But overall, I think it's good for the conference. It gives the game a "playoff" type of atmosphere, which of course is sorely lacking in CFB (and still will be even in the new format, IMO).

I don't understand why. Most years, either the MWC champ or the AAC champ will be in the G5 Access Bowl slot, so the game you're talking about would be the lower-rated champ vs. the other conference's runner-up.

There is no good reason not to.

Yes it is. There is still debate on where the conference will end up.

I kind of wish Navy would join sooner. I want to get to 12 teams as soon as possible.

I love the championship game! Highest BCS ranking hosts.

So...just to play devil's advocate. What if neither team is BCS ranked?

I am looking forward to it to being played in Memphis in 2015

There are rankings that list all FBS teams, although nobody official has given out that kind of detail yet about exactly what would be used.
