Obamacare is not healthcare.

Is there a problem with having quality health care in the United States?

Just curious......

Hope you are real young and willing to pay 4 to 6 times what you could have for insurance.
If so Obama wants you.

When you force someone to buy health care, yeah that's a problem. It's not how this country is suppose to work.

There is a problem with the government controlling the health care everyone receives in this country.

There certainly is. The government should control very little.

We're going to increase demand by adding 30 million to the insurance rolls, and cut costs by paying docs and other providers less, which will have the inevitable consequence of reducing supply. Tell me how this is going to work without shortages, delays, queues, poor quality and ultimately price spikes.

More people will have health insurance, fewer will have health care.

Those are issues that can be resolved. Right now the acceptance rate at medical schools is around 10%. I say build more schools until that rises to 20% (but make those doctors actually serve the public in primary or needed care). We'll just import more doctors from overseas (just like were doing now). Remove the Certificate of need prohibition on competition enjoyed by hospitals.

Obama is more white than black and his race only counts if you're a racist. And since it matters to you, you're a racist.

This post sums up why government always fails in it initiatives. Pass bad laws and then try and figure out how to live with the mistake later. You can almost make book that it will include passing more laws and adding to the size of the government even more.

I am not bashing you Tom. Just pointing out how things work. The GOP has been guilty of the same thing.

My wife just got back last night from a conference on the ACA. She reports that the "navigators" are just as confused as everyone else on this law.

She brought back tons of info and I am sifting through it.

One of the things she reports is that much of the actual patient care that you are referring to above is not going to be done by doctors but Nurse Practitioners and PA's. Expect a run on obtaining these two certifications. Also Nurses are going to eventually be given much more responsibility. There simply is no way to lure enough Docs into this system that pays so little for the ROI needed. As long as you do not need to see an actual doctor...you will be fine. Expect long waits and rationed care if you do. There just will be a market shortage on actual doctors.

RE: Is there a problem with everyone receiving health care in the country?
To the OP...No. I actually think it should be a national priority. Just find a way to pay for it by cutting other parts of the budget. We can't sustain our economy by adding another program larger than SS to it. THIS is what we have done with the ACA.

We have the money to do WTF we want to do in America. Our priorities however are so wide spread that we have lost focus on our OWN. Time to start doing that IMO. Let the rest of the world start having to handle their own damn problems. We gave at the office.
