Dude, Texas State is the preferred nomenclature. To them, Texas Southern is TSU. Get it straight.
Yet the first Texas State fan to reply sure didn't mind the support. The only fanbase with some severe name issues is ULaLa.
Please do not turn this into a name thread....this is a thread between fans of TXST and UL....you took your arse whippin' in Lafayette last year and you will get another in a couple of years.....now git....
Dude, this is a small marginal group of fans from program still trying to live off their past accomplishments. They are finally buidling a new stadium with 30,000 seats and bought their way into the AAC. UL has been more relevant in New Orleans the past two season than Tulane.
ULaLa has only ever been relevant for 2 years***

PS. I hope ULL fans get I'm just being playful in my banter. Respectable school and great upswing in your program. I'm jealous of the NOLA bowl wins. Im just rootin for Texas St for the Tulane #2 in LA feel goods (we all know the reality). All in good fun. Got a - rep from a fan thinking I was serious and it made me sad :\
I look forward to this game and a possible ULL Tulane bowl match up. :)

You wouldn't like the NOLA Bowl very much against the Cajuns. The Dome would be at least half full of Cajun fans, lines for the bathroom and concession stands. I would imagine the few loyal Tulane fans have developed agoraphobia by now. Also we would destroy the Green Wave.

The Superdome seats 76,468. We would bring at least 45,000. So a little over half full. Realistically, Tulane might put 10,000 actual people in the Superdome for a bowl game. So 55,000 total. I live in NOLA and Tulane is really detached from the city. It's too expensive for the locals and they have a large number of students from the North. The Saints, Pelicans and LSU headlines the local news every night. If Tulane does something good it will get a shout out. They would draw much better with a bowl game farther north. If you do a google search you will see numbers around 80% of the students are from out of state.

I would think ULM + Browning > UTEP/UTSA. After that we only need an upset from Tulsa/Rice/UNT/ECU. Easy.

My guess is ULL would double Tulane attendance. maybe 20k and 40k. It would be a great atmosphere.

the thing I really like about this game and the TxSt fans is how the trash talk is clean between both schools. I hope a true rivalry starts here. Its not that far of a trip that Cajun fans can't make. I'm hoping for a positive out come for the home team, but this game worries me. TxSt has nothing to lose but everything to gain. They are confident after the first four games and playing some good football. I could careless whom both teams have played to get to this point the games are won or lost on the field. Hopefully the rest will pay off we have some players that are nicked up. Our offense is good enough to play with any defense in the conference our Def backs well the jury is still out. I'm so looking forward to the game and showing our fellow conference mates a good time and no matter who win that both teams escape serious injuries. GEAUX CAJUNS oh I still feel if you can't beat ASU you can't win this conference.

With your grand and glorious history you would think Tulane would be in the SEC by now. Wait you were a founding member and elected to leave!
And your greatest conference glory is.... the SBC....
At least we didn't volunteer to leave the penthouse for the trailer park.

I'm really not worried at all. Mainly because Hud had an extra week to prepare for this game and it's at home. On the road with just a regular week I would be worried. TXST has proven they are a good team.

Nice post. I think Bobcat fans are starting to feel a little better about our chances in this game . . at the beginning of the year, I think most of us had this one as an automatic "L." Especially with the performance our O in the first 3 games. The Wyo. game (because of the way our O played) now has us cautiously optimistic. We may still lose, but we feel that at the very least, y'all will know you were in a game . . .
