Early line has TU favored by 10.....I think that is just to get the money flowing......hard to pick a team by 10 when they only scored 7 and that was late in a game, that was already lost. At least we know Col St can score some points, lots of points. I would rate this as a toss up if I ever saw one, even with us having the home field advantage. If Tulsa can't at least complete 50+% of their passes.....down field not the behind the line swing pass, we will lose again because you know Col St had scouts at our last game and will start stacking the line which will kill the run.........If you can't pass and you can't run, it's hard to score many points. We will be really lucky to have 20,000 in attendance Saturday......probably closer to 15,000 and if we play the same type of game this week as last.....that might be a big crowd for this year!!!!

RE: Colorado St
We are beginning to see some of the weaknesses in our program and BB's way of coaching and preparing for opening games. One is style - running a physical/inside run system isn't condusive to early success unless you have a huge advantage in talent to begin the season - we obviously don't. Our problems at QB have obviously not been solved regardless of the spin we've gotten from the staff. And gameplanning a deliberate style wo a backup plan if we get stuffed is just suicide. My main problem with the BG game was that we either looked slow or out of shape and unable to play fast. IMO effort was part of the problem. How you remedy that is still an issue. IMO

It's going to be a long time before Tulsa can use a power running game against BCS teams let alone BG to start the season. The quick count, hurry up offense helps both the passing and running game....and generally that type of offense has Tulsa in better condition than the other team. The team will get better with experience, there is no doubt about that......but that will help very little with a QB that can neither pass, nor run......and doesn't seem to know when to do either. The answer to one question.....is Dane the answer..............the answer is "NO"......not without a little experience but he can pass and he knows when it's time to vacate the pocket and run......that by itself sgould make him the starting QB!!!!

RE: Colorado St
I am thinking BB wants to run a certain offense and feels Cody Green gives him the best chance to run that offense. Looks like he is trying to run a traditional power run style but doesn't have the Offensive Line to succeed in that. He just doesn't look like he wants to run passing offense which I feel is what is needed to make this years offense sucessful. It has already been proven that if defenses load up the box, Tulsa is unable to pass its way out of it effectively without some major changes.
