They are slightly similar and the new logo is still growing on me but Houston Baptist's is hideous IMO.

No. UConn doesn't have a logo problem unless you want to concede that Memphis has a mascot problem with the tiger (LSU).

Well, they just moved up to the Southland Conference (FCS), so that's probably why. Their aspirations are to become the next Sam Houston State.
