I have never had any issues at Ladd, and that includes camping out before games.

The only thing I have heard of is the night after the Senior Bowl about 10 years ago, for some reason the city did not provide security for that night and some things were stolen from around campers.(bicycles, grills, that sort of thing)

I have parked in peoples yards(for a price), parked at the sheriff lot, and have never had a problem walking to the stadium. And you can always pick up some good BBQ on the walk in. 04-cheers

Ladd Stadium was painted a couple years ago. We have new turf starting this season. USA is renting Jumbotrons for the games. USA is supposed to add additional speakers to the visitors side. The Ladd of today is better than the Ladd of 5 years ago.

There is a special spot in my heart for Ladd, always has been. I know it is a dated building, but with more improvements, it could be a very functional stadium and something for Mobile to be really proud of. The sound system is a big deal, rebuild the locker rooms(again), replace the monochrome scoreboard with an actual jumbotron.

Would love to see that stadium used for more, and it should be, but bad management by all the buildings in Mobile has lead to everything sitting empty for most of the year.

Yes, the three block neighborhood around Ladd is not that great. But it isn't as bad as people think it is.

You can say the same about Legion Field. It may not be in the most desirable area in the city but I haven't heard of any issues regarding saftey when it comes down to Legion Field or Ladd.
