Idaho?!
Yeah...
Wyoming is more believable, considering they somehow get like 10% of the state's population to go to football games... But really, Idaho? I don't even.

Regardless of their methodology or data, any ranking system that places the Louisville fan base as the sixth best in the American makes it totally credible. Everybody knows the people of Louisville do not support their college teams like the people of Dallas support SMU and the people of Philly support Temple.

Because our program is better than yours. Funny that you act like the non-FSU fans don't talk just as much crap about FSU.
FSU should be a Top 10 team year in and year out. I was in Tempe, Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl game against Tennessee. I worked for Houghton Mifflin Publishing at that time and our National Sales Meeting was at the Marriott Camelback Resort. I got tickets from friends at the Dallas Chapter of the FSU Alumni Group and promised them I was taking coworkers that went to FSU (one lived in Tennessee the other in North Carolina). The FSU fan support was tremendous! As you can imagine; I was there for the fun of a big time event; but literally my coworkers (grown men) were nearly in tears at the end. They really took it hard. As a former Buffalo Bills season ticket holder who made it to Tampa for the Super Bowl against the Giants; I could feel their pain...
FSU has great fans and generates more money for its athletics than any other ACC program outside of ND and UL (and UL has some weird agreement where they get non-UL game revenue from their arena). So any Pitt fan (outside of Clairton), or, truthfully, any non-FSU, fan can suck my D.
We are the YOUNGEST football program in the ACC and arguably the best. The same goes for our graduate and professional programs despite being the oldest institution of higher learning in Florida (since 1851).

With all that said, FSU is known as being a great fanbase. I don't give a F who you think you are. If you disagree your opinion is obviously as worthwhile as one of my *****. (And I'm not talking to you, texasorange.)
What an eloquent that thought provoking post? To think you even had to edit once or twice it to get it right. You’re vulgar and boorish behavior doesn't speak very well for FSU's educational value?

You make the assumption that a fan of FSU graduated from FSU.
But generally I agree that FSU has a good fan base. With anything, you must consider the methodologies of a ranking and what it is measuring.

The truly sad thing is how AAC fans on the other board are slob-knobbing all over this study as their "proof" of how the AAC fans are superior to the ACC, and claiming their schools actually have more potential than ACC members.
It's so off-base I don't even know which delusion I'd slap down first if I decided to get back in the fray over there.

FSU has great fans. Met quite a few in Daytona & Jacksonville when I lived there. Totally respect the Seminole nation (FSU fan base). Grew up to the likes of Charlie Ward, Warrick Dunn, Peter Warrick, and others doing their thing under Coach Bowden. Had far more respect for FSU than "Thug U" and Spurrier's Gators. I think it would be great for college football for the ACC 'ship to come down to Pitt & FSU most years. It's up to Chryst and Pitt to step up to the plate and challenge Va Tech, Ga Tech, and the rest of the Coastal to make that possible.

I agree that is curious; makes me wonder about the methodology used. And then having Louisville ranked so low among the AAC schools.
Also, we are not shown (in the table) what the difference is between rankings. It could be that there is a huge gap between (for example) #3 and #4 and that #5-6-7-8 are all bunched up close together.
The American Athletic Conference is in a unique position, simply because that identity is just now being created. All the other leagues have been around a while, albeit with different memberships. Will the league overall be greater than the sum of its parts? Less than, or equal to? Too soon to say. I will venture to say that in MBB and football, the AAC will consistently have stronger brand equity than the Mtn., and greater than the A-10 in MBB.

Pretty sure, that the Wilkster meant to spell amateur there.....he gets so excited with his responses to these topics he sometimes either makes up words or finds a very seldom used one from Websters, you have to forgive him sometimes!
