I think the OP is relying a lot on "common sense" and on observed patterns of behavior. Observed pattern of behavior is that P5 doesn't want to play G5 if they can avoid it.
Quote:1) Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the BoB bowl should be AAC vs ACC/CUSA 3x each. If you believe otherwise...state your source for "seeing" differently.
I think the source is common sense. This was announced pretty early in the process. Why would Swofford agree to that deal, a part-time tie in in a crap stadium against a lower-FBS also-ran? Yes it's in Tampa Bay, but I argue that it's more likely that the story is wrong than that the ACC ran out to sign that deal.
There are two possibilities.
A) Somebody (St Pete Bowl? Aresco?) was blowing smoke up Greg Auman's rear end.
B) The ACC signed a part-time tie-in to a lousy bowl, committing themselves before they knew exactly what the alternatives were.
Hmm. We know Swofford has a son that works at Raycom--maybe he has a younger son who works at Beef O'Bradys?
Quote:2) Which "rumor" of the BBVA going SEC/ACC are you referring to? Please state the source of this "rumor". I have yet to see one published source for this. But I have seen SEVERAL sources stating this was expected to be AAC vs. SEC. Please source this "rumor" (or is this "rumor" in your head).
I would also like a source for this rumor. I'm predicting that it happens, but I don't have a source. Just my common sense and what bowls are still on the board. For the SEC, Birmingham vs ACC > Birmingham vs AAC, and for ACC, Birmingham vs SEC > Independence vs lower-FBS.
Quote:3) State source that ACC would play MWC in Indepedence bowl before playing AAC.
Again, common sense more than media reports. If you're Swofford, do you want 2 or 3 ACC vs AAC bowls? (Military, St Pete, Independence)? If you're stuck with multiple ACC vs lower-FBS bowls, would you rather mix it up, ACC vs AAC in the Military, ACC vs someone else in Shreveport?
Of all the P5 conferences, the ACC (least of the P5) has the most incentive to separate themselves from the AAC.
Quote:4) State source that Pac will not go to Miami.
No source, but again common sense. Miami is hella far from PAC-12 country. On the other hand, Florida is a great recruiting ground. So maybe the PAC sends their last bowl-eligible to Miami, but I'd say the odds are against it.
