RE: For you GaSo and App St Folks
Considering how fast some teams move, and are willing to pay extra to do so, you guys may not be either.
Who knows. Then again, the P5 may cause the G5 to consolidate into two or three conferences of 16 each,
and leave, who knows. Anything could happen.

It was quite a bit higher. I'd say around 80-90% were happy with the move. It's all arbitrary anyway b/c how can someone who's only connection is through the internet be able able to properly gauge such a number.

Not true. You very well know how many were still backing Sammy. Nowhere near 80 percent. Now, if you say 80 percent under 40 years of age, that would be kosher. The silent majority was what held us down for 20 years. Baker should have never lived another day after the Rusty Russell situation. Then, it was incident after incident.

The only reason Baker lasted that long was due to the former President and a handful of very big boosters. Not some silent majority. Majority of money and that's what really matters.

Very big boosters and a silent majority. Lets not front here. We have a massive amount of "fans" that are praying the G5 conferences split so we don't have yo compete with their favorite teams. Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Tech.

We've only had one big booster (outside of original donations like Paulson and the like). The people that were running the roost were small potatoes, but because Sam had no push or need to expand fundraising or anything, we were stuck with those guys creating the safety net. If they were big enough to keep Sam that long, Keel would have been afraid to get rid of him period. We all saw how that went down.

Maybe. Keel still waited a year too long. Sammy had 3 colossal Fups on Keels watch. Keep making up for lost time now.

I want to think that Keel gave him every chance to prove he could be the man to take care of this. That article that came out where Sam said "We're staying FCS with no chance of FBS" when Keel was spreading the pro-FBS message was the last straw. I know a LOT of people contacted the President's office after that interview and I was one of them.

Should have never had the opportunity. Weird scenario. Not like Sammy was even just a bad AD. Usually any new Prez brings in their own guy. Love Keel now. Even though he looks like a guy that has to perpetually drop some kids.

Well he probably just didn't want to blow everything up right away until he got a good feel for all the dynamics at play in the University. Plus there were some academic things he concentrated on as well. He's brought more research dollars in since he's been President than I can recall previously. On top of that, he spearheaded the Soaring to Victory campaign to get all the coaches what they needed to raise their level of competition.

There was a lot of stuff he was doing behind the scenes before he went through the restructuring. He probably had to find out just how hard it would be to deal with losing/replacing those donors that had Sam in their pocket too.

I had forgot about that. That was a head scratcher.

We're not going anywhere. Not enough support amongst teams in other leagues to add us.
