I'll have to bring my cane to the game at Nippert in 2025.

Regardless, it's still a good get...the last three OOC opponent UC has gotten in football (BYU, Michigan, and Nebraska) are all big names, good programs, and can give the program, and the conference should it still exist in the case of the Nebraska series, a lot of exposure.

The players that would play in the return game are currently in 1st grade-4th grade. Better get to scouting now!

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/uc/2013/07/1...ka-series/

“That’s a long way off, but it’s going to be good for our fans and players,” Bearcats coach Tuberville said. “It’s a great program with a lot of tradition. It’ll be good travel for our fans to see another part of the country.”

UC also confirmed that it will play a home-and-home men’s basketball series against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers will visit Fifth Third Arena on Dec. 28, 2013, and the Bearcats will travel to Lincoln in the 2014-15 season. The schools reached a verbal agreement on the basketball deal last month.

UC athletic director Whit Babcock said the football contract stipulates that Nebraska play the 2025 game at the Bearcats’ campus home of Nippert Stadium, not at the Bengals’ larger Paul Brown Stadium downtown.

It’s a testimony to how far our football program has come, to get an opponent like Nebraska to come here to Nippert,” Babcock said. “Even though it’s a long way off, when you get an opportunity like this you want to jump on it.”

I had feeling the basketball home and home that starts in Cincinnati this season was part of the deal. The Michigan home and home basketball deal includes a 2017 football road game at Michigan. Cincinnati is starting to get better contracts out of Big Ten schools not named Ohio State. Purdue and Illinois were football home and home.

for me...it's so far off that I just don't care about it. The odds of it getting moved, cancelled, or otherwise are high and even if it's 100% going to happen, it's too far away to give a rip about it now. Those are my thoughts anyway...

It's not unusual for OOC games to be scheduled far in advance. More than a decade, in the case of the 2025 game, may be a little extreme but probably not unheard of.
