How much of USA and GA St.'s budget are rental expenses for the stadiums?

I know App expenses related to paying down the debt associated with the athletic facility is an overall budget line item, not football specific.

Trying to get apples to apples is going to be tough anytime you look at these numbers.

Very very little. The leases vs. debt service on a $100m stadium is minuscule.

$0 for USA. At least until 2014. The city of Mobile gave us use of Ladd Stadium rent-free for 5 years. 2013 will be our 5th year. I have no clue what the city will charge us starting in 2014.

I think its less. I'm pretty sure I read in 2010 it was less than half of that. Might be higher now, not sure.

Expect Appalachian State and Georgia Southern's budgets to go up as they transition.

Doesn't matter that much but thought App State's was over $6 million a few years ago for just football. Looks like with tickets, rights licensing, and other revenue that exceeds six million, which doesn't even take into consideration three million in donations or almost 8.5 million in student fees.
Here is a USA Chart:

RE: Sun Belt Budgets
looking at athletic budgets can be fun and sort of informative but somewhat deceiving.

I remember awhile back I looked at entire athletic budgets and saw GSU had 24m (or something) budget, but spent less on basketball and football than schools with 6m less budget. I couldn't figure out where the extra 6m was being spent.

It is very confusing and misleading. You see some with HUGE budgets listed and they have average facilities, average to low salaries and average travel. States have different rules about reporting and accounting so you can't really tell what it means much of the time.

I look at facilities, coaching salaries and recruiting budgets as the key figures.

What is weird is going into some of those Northern schools budgets then going to their web sites. Finding out that a lot of them have to have things done by a union and seeing the huge expenses. Many of their websites question payouts and where they go. Guess that's just the way of doing business in a union dominated set up.
