Didn't Noland say that he hoped to be playing "JV" football in 2014 when he presented to the SGA?

I really hope they can follow through and do it. I believe it would bridge an important gap in the time line plus give students, fans, and alumni something to watch and keep up with.

It makes more sense to do a "Club" team, as anyone you bring in you can redshirt, they can play a club schedule and not burn a year of eligibility.
If they play a "JV" schedule, you have players that lose a year.
Just a thought, but realistically by fall of 2014 they won't have a stadium, so why not play six "home games."

High school students with school issued I.D.'s in free along with ETSU students, treat it as a way to recruit general students and not just football players. Let the schools have the gate/concessions (it probably won't be more than 5-7K anyway) and it gives ETSU a chance to go around the region, promoting the product and gaining interest for the program/university.

I know everyone is anxious to start playing, but playing a college game at a high school really seems rinky dink to me.

What did similar schools do (like ODU) their first season of playing? Did they play their first game in the new stadium or did they play somewhere else while it was being built?

Its pretty much a done deal to play the first year at a high school. I dont know when that first year will be. I think the plan is to play 2015 at a high school

When will the Bucs be playing a full SoCon schedule and be eligible for the conference championship? Someone stated on here earlier that the commissioner saw blue prints of the new stadium. He and the conference delegation had to see something that impressed them, otherwise, the SoCon would never have invited ETSU back. I just don't know about playing in high school venues the first year. I cannot think of any other start up programs of recent years that have attempted this. I just don't know. The Lt Governor stated that he would like to see ETSU in its new stadium for the 2015 season. That, obviously, would be the preference. Could a year in the Dome, with the new stadium under construction outside, work?

I think it would be great to do. It sure beats doing nothing for the entire Fall semester. Good to get back in the habit of going to football games!

A year in the Dome would be an absolute disaster. Im pretty sure its going to be at a local high school, probably Science Hill (with its track around it)

We have plans for the football stadium. Dave Mullins was seen in a public area of the Culp Center the week after he was "reassigned" looking at a drawing of a football stadium (dont have any more details on this, it might have been very rough plans). Im not sure what the hold up is on getting the proper professionals out to examine those possible locations.

Most played a club schedule I believe.
The stadium will be ready on canpus for 2015 kickoff unless they have a land issue, which doesn't sound like it'll be an issue.
Varsity intercollegiate football is different than club, Calabrese did this with soccer and it has paid dividends on the field for them.

I could handle the mini-dome for the 2015 season and then break the new place in 2016. GO BUCS!

No minidome for anything other than practice, ever. I'd much rather a club team (hopefully chock full of potential walkons that may transition into FCS players) can play all over the Tri-Cities. ETSU can't just be about Johnson City, it's gotta be about the Tri-Cities and winning even just a small percentage of people in each area.
