The GSU campus is very pretty especially with the amount and variety of trees and plant life but outside of putting a stadium right next to an ocean you cant beat a mountain view. The stadium however is quickly becoming a different story. Once the South stands get expanded with luxury suites it is game over unless you plan on tearing down the erector set construction and go with concrete.

One of the things I find interesting about the rivalry is that both campuses are beautiful, but they couldn't be more different.

Agree.

You can call me biased if you want...we're still near the bottom of the SBC in terms of stadium size, but once everything including the Field of Dreams is ready to go I think we will have the best-looking stadium in the league.

I think you have to visit a stadium to really have a good handle on the looks and atmosphere. It's hard for me to judge based on pictures. I do think we will continue to have the "Prettiest Little Stadium in America."

I just wish we could go ahead and land a P5 team in the next few years to do a home and home with us.

Who would be the biggest get?
Georgia Tech, Alabama?

Obviously we would never get bama. I could possibly see Tech if we did a 2 for 1.

Never say never. One day, maybe.
GaSo might just have to beat enough SEC teams to get their attention.
And remember Alabama has gone through some hard times previously.

Bama or GT. Bama would be a much bigger get, but GT is more likely in the near future.

I'm wanting to get a home and home with ECU or UNLV (love the away game). A Big 12 or ACC team would be great. Then of course getting an SEC team (like MSU, Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky) would be great. Would love for us to get the Military academies in an annual rotation (Army, Navy, and Air Force).

So far all we got are MAC teams. Hopefully we'll see some CUSA and MWC on the schedule soon. Hopefully our A.D. is making new connections.

Doubtful we get any SEC teams in the near future.

More likely we get Big 12 or one of the lower Pac-12 teams. Biggest sellign point is to get them in Georgia to be in front of recruits. Need a team that doesn't get televised on the east coast that much.

I would like to see some schools from the other G5's as well, I think we've hit the MAC up enough for now, although it's an easy decision on their part.

Agreed, it would be great to get some AAC schools on the schedule in the coming years...like 2016 in place of Jacksonville.

I am not too keen on more MAC school home and homes for App.
We have one signed up in the future. Would like ACC mainly, particularly
Wake Forest, since they stopped playing us since we were beating them
so often. Maybe Duke in a few years or NC State. Mainly because we have
so many ACC fans in our area compared to MAC. Hard to believe NC State
signed up for a home and home with ODU that starts this year I believe.

And remember Alabama has gone through some hard times previously.

It wasnt to long ago the AGS types and some of our own very own were stating no Sun Belt school would ever get a home game against a BCS team. Well that got shut down pretty quickly so in the next decade I am not counting any team out.

Wraith was a pro FCS rube back in my posting days. How quick they forget. JCG is one of the only guineas left over there.

I was conditionally against FBS in the form it took at the time. The model changed. They also added a playoff. Everything that I was against got changed, so my opinion shifted.

I also probably donated more money (and still do) this whole time than you have while continuing to complain about stuff that's over and done with. Move on.

Yeah, according to the the "can't afford FBS crowd", we should be going "belly up" any day now.

Anyway, fortunately we made it to FBS and good things are ahead for the Eagles, and we won't wither on the FCS vine. There will soon be a huge gap between FBS and FCS once FBS starts to pay stipends. At that point, MoSt and JMU will probably wake up. That is also why you will see Kennesaw make a push for FBS over the next couple of years. I just hope MoSt and JMU join before Kennesaw becomes a legitimate candidate.

Do we really want JMU though. What's the point if they are just going to
complain about their academics being hurt and want out.

By the way what is happening in Georgia? You guys just had less opposition.

Do they seriously complain about that? Their academic profile fits with the rest of the Sunbelt. Hell, their acceptance rate is higher than Southern's.

Can we not derail this into a realignment / academic distinction thread?
