Could this mean UALR is building hype for a football program?

University of Arkansas would never allow it, and they control UALR.

I think this is about one of the Athletic Director's trying to do what is best for his conference and city. Kudos to the UALR athletic department for working this.

I don't think it is likely. The politics would be very hard to overcome.

At least for this upcoming season, is the New Orleans Bowl still slotted for the SBC champion?

Probably depends on what Louisiana does. I thought they had to take the champ once every four years but I imagine if the Cajuns do well there will be some horse trading.

New Orleans bowl contract calls for taking the champ 2 out of every 4 years. The last two years, they have taken the 2nd place team. Contractually, they are obligated to take the champ this year unless the champ agrees to go to another bowl.

Yep two out of four instead of once.

I'm fairly certain WKU will choose the Go Daddy Bowl and leave New Orleans for ULL :)

I think the Cajuns will be in the New Orleans Bowl, too.
