36 - 119? Fugly, LOL.

FWIW, the Bulls are 12-21 against teams currently in the P5 (including ND but not counting leavers like Syracuse and Pitt).

Why don't you include Syracuse and Pitt. They are in the ACC. USF owned Syracuse.

It would make sense with H-town being in the southwest conference all those years and being on a fairly even recruiting ground... They were pretty good when they were getting beaten by ND in the 70's 03-lmfao

Yeah the one time we played them in 78. Took the first of many Montana Miracles to come for them to pull out that game. We laid an egg in the 4th quarter for sure but it was a real blowout at 35-34....

Won't happen...Teams leaving old BE left USF, UC, and UConn high and dry.

Massive effort to freeze out USF, UC, and UConn, along with rest of AAC.

Yes, I am bitter.

I think the thread should ask for records against power conferences that took place while they weren't in a power conference.

Ask and you shall receive:

Road vs. P5 outside SWC: 34-64-4
Neutral vs. P5 outside SWC: 3-7-1

82-112-8

Question, why are some of you including the old BE when they are not part of the P5?

Just to be clear I was not. I did however include Louisville, Pitt, and Syracuse as part of the ACC.

There are a few P5 schools we have never played like WVU and Rutgers (playing this fall).

Well I know all time we have 4 total wins. Bama, Boston College, Georgia and NC State. The losses... Not pretty I think in the 40s. A lot we were just dominated and some we just gave away on a silver platter.

That's for UCF. Don't know since FBS in 1996 and don't know any breakdowns.

That is why I said we should show where the games were played...you can't just cite a record without that context when the games were overwhelmingly played on the road an never at home. To be honest no OOC records really mean anything without that context as compared to conference records which get played home and away.

Some quality ECU wins over P5 and ranked opponents
1991
#15 Syracuse
#23 Pitt
#21 NCST Peach Bowl
1995
#22 Syracuse
1996
#12 Miami
1999
#13 Miami
(Beat WVU, South Carolina, Duke and NCST all in one year but only Miami was ranked)
2002
#23 TCU
2007
#22 Boise St
2008
#17 Virginia Tech
#8 WVU
2009
#18 Houston

I have to give the 1983 ECU Football team an honorary shout out
8-3
Lost to #7 Florida St 47-46
Lost to #5 and eventual National Champion Miami 12-6
Lost to Florida 24-17
We beat NCST and Missouri that year
