Man I wish we didn't have to be in a dumpster fire poor man's conference for another year. I wish ECU were in these previews.

I'm curious as to who they have UC losing to. 3 losses seems like a lot with UC's schedule. 2 max, 1 or none are both distinct possibilities.

bahahah what a joke!! 77th! No way in hell.
Yeah, they need to adjust it... they have 77th because of this, probably:
HEAD COACH: Ruffin McNeill, 20-19 (3+ years) | OFF. COORDINATOR: Lincoln Riley | DEF. COORDINATOR: Brian Mitchell

ECU always seems to be ranked in the 70's in most preseason mags. I'm not going to question it given the obvious defensive struggles, but Athlon did fail to mention the fact that Rick Smith was in charge of a particularly stingy secondary that won 2 CUSA championships last time he was at ECU. Pair that with their praise for the defensive front 7 and it does seem like a slight to be in at 77 since the defense was the only negative in the writeup.

I'm assuming @Rutgers, Louisville, and Purdue probably...even though that's an absolute joke.

Is it just inconceivable for Cincy to lose to a new school?

Their assessment of ucf is spot on. There's a lot of work to be done and some questions that need answering.

We won't be unbeatable on the road, but the road schedule is pretty awful. Just the way it lined up. @Houston or @USF are not inconceivable though. We will probably be favored in all except the 2 mentioned, but that doesn't mean much.
We are going to kill Purdue at Nippert IMO.

I never once said that, but this season doesn't look like they will.
Well, they don't play UCF and have SMU at home, so maybe you're refering to Houston, which I guess is feasible, I just haven't really heard much positive chatter on them for this upcoming year, especially with them losing their best offensive player. So are you refering to @Memphis on a Wednesday with them having just played the Saturday before and us having a week off prior?

I know there is a lot of hope and rising expectations based on the DC change, ostensibly weaker schedule, and high number of returning starts/letter winners. However, we are likely to post another 8-5 record against weak competition like we did last year (the weakest ECU schedule I can recall in a long time).
Until I'm proven wrong (and I really want to be proven wrong), I have no confidence we can beat good teams and we win way too many games but a razor thin margin against bad teams.
Honestly, we could go 8-4 against our schedule and be the 77th best team in America.
All of these preseason rankings and analysis are based on opinion and is meant to generate conversation. Don't get too worked up over it.

I don't think they have you losing to Rutgers, as they have us with 4 losses and only losing to Arkansas OOC. That would leave UL, UCF and Cincy as our likely losses.
Or their editing just isn't quite there yet

The quarterback question is the only one that has to be answered for me. The three interception against OSU last year against a so-so pass rush concerned me.
