Adopted Trojan. And SBC fans
http://www.troymessenger.com/2013/05/31/...as-family/

It's a good read. And a lot like myself, as I'm an adopted Trojan fan.

Any others out there?

RE: Adopted Trojan. And SBC fans
I was in the seat next to Hemi for that picture and what is so funny they are the rowdiest (sp) fans we have at Troy. I too am an adopted Trojan fan....and of course love it.....

I think the question is not if you in general are Trojan fan or not....are there others on here who are adopted fans to the school they support...I live in the Panhandle of Florida and attended a few FSU games in the nose bleed seats and wondered how much for the good seats and how long have they had them. Troy expanded there stadium about 10 years ago now and went D1 in football.......So I bought some season tickets....first 4 then up to 12 on the visitor side because not really a fan of Troy but football in those days.....began to love it and moved to comfortable home side and have 6 tickets.....traveled to all bowl games and a bunch of road games........

So how many other DIFFERENT school fans are like me.....that just loved football and noted that it was a good price and a good deal and just kind of fell into the other sports be it for tailgaiting etc....????

All and all have made some good friends and sure is fun.......no matter the outcome.

Considering your short time here thus far, and the fact you aren't even an SBC fan, is it really wise to be picking fights with folks, especially moderators? You did go out of your way to post a nasty and unnecessary jab out of the blue, so there's really no defense to the action.

We don't let the OG's on here do that, why would you be special? You are welcome to post here, just don't be a problem. Understand?

I am an adopted Ragin Cajun Fan. I went to school elsewhere (at a smaller school) but I lived in Lafayette for about 25 years. My daughter graduated form UL, but I was a fan long before she entered school there. Most of my friends in Lafayette are UL Graduates.

Good stuff...Its always great when folks like us can jump on board and in some cases be much bigger fans/supporters than most Alumni. especially at the Mid major levels.04-rock

At our level, finding supporters who did not attend their chosen (adopted in this case) school/team is tougher than locating a clear picture of Bigfoot.

I think it is a testament to our growth and success that non-affiliated fans are coming on board and choosing Sun Belt football programs as their primary. 04-cheers

RE: Adopted Trojan. And SBC fans
Lot of people call those fans that did not go to school at a particular school but root for it "Wal-Mart Fans". As we all know for their going to Wal-Mart and buying college items of the school they want to root for. I hope we all have a lot more of those Wal-Mart Fans in the coming years, hopefully hundreds of thousands or even millions. Nothing wrong with that. Many times they show up for games and give to the university better than many alums from those schools. If not for them there are some schools that would barely have fans at their games, maybe not in the Sun Belt, but some schools. If you can pick your NFL team you certainly can pick your personal college team.

Every school needs Wally World fans. They pay the bills just like the rest of us! Sometimes more!

Just returning a little annoyance for atlanta Trojan.

He annoys me on occasion just thought I'd return the favor.

And why would I care if he is a moderator?

Lol because I asked a question on your board you call me annoying. It was a legit question. I didn't mean to offend you if I did. But regardless it is in no way grounds to be a jerk on THIS board.

Yes seriously
In my life and frankly in general this board or any other board is just an amusement. The lack of it means little or nothing.

How bout a deal Atlanta if you'll stay of my board I'll stay off yours.

Oh no.

I don't really look for an argument. I just thought I'd annoy you a little while I could.
And may again in the future if I find the opportunity.

Are you declaring that your purpose in being here is to cause problems by annoying folks? 05-nono

If that turns out to be the case, I will kick your butt off myself.
