RE: New Logo LINK
One criticism which is driving me a little bit nuts: four of the star's five points are touching the border of the A. But the bottom left point isn't. It's the only one that doesn't touch.

Overall I'm fine with it, better than a lot of other conference logos, but that friggin point thing and the drop shadow are distracting.

JUST HAVE ALL FIVE STAR POINTS TOUCH THE BORDER, DAMMIT!

I like it overall as well. I also have one minor star issue. I'd align it with the "A" instead of the angle it's at currently. Either way, they could've done A LOT worse.

Then if you leave the star tilted, you would have an asymmetrical star. And if you didn't tilt the star, I would like it less. Just no way to solve everybody's concerns.

This is where science and art diverge.

In art, everything doesn't need to be exact.

It's just a simple expression that's meant to strike a chord...

...whether all 5 points touch the border or not.

Wel, I am too picky, I guess. Here is what is bugging the Sh*t out of me! Sorry, for this, because once you see it, you may not be able to un-see it!

I did not use the exact same font, but theirs really looks like someone just scaled the letters at random. I didn't include it in my graphic because I think I made my point, but why is that C so fat, too?!

Please - Someone in the Conference office needs to fix that!

Fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Edited to add: I just noticed also, on the version that says "theAmerican.org" "org" is larger/taller than the "the." What the hell are they thinking. Do they have a nephew taking computer graphics in junior high that they have given this project to? WTH

^ He knows his sH!+! 04-bow

My only guess is that the extreme fonts were visual accents. Although I'm not sure exactly why...

The American Athletic Conference :Bring your "A" game

Someone here should go ahead do As in all the team colors and do a spread.

I like that! And here you are...

Also, I can do the team colors, but I am not going to research the official colors... If someone post their colors, I can set up the colored "A"s.

I like graphical quality but I think the layout needs a little work.

The more I think about the star point and its orientation the more I think that if it pointed straight up it wouldn't look right. The star point tipped to the right would visually show a upward trend like in a bar/line graph. I'm not as "fashion police" hung up on the star points touching.
