The good news is that if Ga Southern finishes 4th in the Sun Belt, they can start talking NCAA regionals.

We started out very strong and actually were ranked at #22 with a 19-9 record. Then our pitching starting getting injured and we went into a team slump hitting. From 19-9 to 27-32 to end year. So we were 8-23 over our last 31 games. Still we were 1 game away from playing for a SoCon championship.

We lose our best pitcher who graduates and 3 starters in the field. I have heard we are bringing in several JC pitchers so hopefully we will be better next year.

That is bad news. Transfers and JC's are what kills a good program. We take far too many of both. If we continue to take 4-8 transfers/JC's a year, we will fade even further into obscurity.
We recruited a JC that ended up leading our team in hitting, and another who is a weekend pitcher. There is a place for JC's in D1..but there has to be a mix of underclassmen who u can develop.

Of course, it says even more that we finished sixth in the conference with said talent. Our swing in miss ratio on transfers/JC guys is well over 50 percent.

And that first round pick broke his wrist early in the season and never returned....

Second rounder and fourth rounder didn't. Also, had another drafted. To finish 6th with that kind of talent is horrible. Even worse this season. But, lets keep the status quo. We are in for a very rude awakening in the Sun Belt.

Dodds is decent, but I sincerely hope we aren't trumping up Stevenson, who may be the worst pitcher in the conference, and had no business starting all season.
