In the last 5 years, VT is 3-1 against us, WVU is 2-1, and NC State is 2-2.... I think playing South Alabama or someone would probably be a little easier.

A little easier yes, but I threw you guys a nod when I said it would help their bottom line by playing ECU over a sun belt team. Still cannot compare a regular season bone they throw ECU to a bowl game, where no P5 team has any desire to play ECU or any other G5 team...which was my point before ECU fans got butt hurt.

I don't give a damn about your point. My point is I'm not going to spend a fortune to support crap. I want to go see ECU play games, and I want to see them play games against opponents I care about watching, so if our bowls won't allow that opportunity I'll go to more road games. The nice thing about the AAC is there are some league games now I'd be interested in seeing on the road like UCONN, Temple, Cincy, Navy, USF, and UCF (only trip I really wanted to make in C-USA but never got the chance). All of those are in better cities and better opponents than it appears our bowl lineup is going to allow, so I'll just go to those and whatever local AQ we play on the road that year.

Its a valid point, I am just saying its the same exact point P5 conferences are making about the AAC and thus why its impossible for Aresco to "sell them" on a bowl game vs us.

Only thing we can sell is wins.

Yep. It looks like St Pete and Birmingham might be out TOP 2 bowls now, unfortunately. I never would have believed it before.

The new Military Bowl is better than those 2, especially St. Pete. That bowl has got to do something to change the location, date, and opponent.

How the hell do you keep adding new bowls, after adding only 1 perennial bowl contender to your league? Someone please tell me how, Wilkie? Anybody? There's going to be a huge crapstorm when they find out that Pitt and Cuse ain't turning the clock back to the 80's.

ND is in the bowl lineup as well. So that's 2.

But they've added like, what, 4-5 bowls? And there's very little likelihood that Duke is going to be bowl eligible often most years.

If that ends being our top two bowls lets scrap the league

Nope on the Sun. ACC pushing to renew Sun Bowl vs PAC.

I'd rather the league sign zero bowl tie ins and just chance it completely on P5's not filling slots than have those as the top 2.

Oh come on we are keeping the Beef and maybe even adding the Military. Aresco will sell that as a huge win just like his amazing TV deal.

I've heard nothing. In fact, even the Confeence has been effectively silent on bowls. Th only bowl rumor I've heard is that we pretty much have the New Orleans Bowl.

But they've added like, what, 4-5 bowls? And there's very little likelihood that Duke is going to be bowl eligible often most years.

Remember that the ACC lost the Chick-Fil-A Bowl tie-in to the new playoff system (as that's now an access bowl), so everything is getting pushed down. All of this is a result of (1) the top non-CFP tie-ins for the ACC and Big 12 along with 2 high level SEC tie-ins are all on the free agent market with the Chick-Fil-A and Cotton Bowls now with the CFP and (2) the Big Ten, ACC, SEC and Pac-12 are all larger than when they last negotiated bowl tie-ins, so all of them are adding 1 or 2 bowls each. When you have the combo of 2 top level bowls getting taken away by the CFP system and then 4 out of the 5 power conferences looking for 1 or 2 more bowls on top of that, it's going to have a pretty substantial pushdown effect (which ends up pushing the Gang of Five down further in the bowl pecking order).

Damn we got those pre-christmas bowl games on lock. Maybe Aresco is a big party animal and he wants to make sure no AAC teams are playing on or near New Years so he can party it up guilt free.

I would think with Navy Houston and SMU the armed forces bowl would be a lock

Sadly the league doesn't have Boise to lock up the Potato Bowl. That would have really rounded out this lineup nicely.

Actually the Armed Forces bowl isn't a bad bowk. Its In the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Most likely against the MountainWest or BYU

Don't bet on us getting it. Hell, if a bowl were hosted in the Fick I wouldn't even be confident we'd get it.
