An odd rumor deserving of a new thread
So, I was talking to a friend out of the midwest that I met in Minnesota one week, and he told me the strangest thing. Apparently the coach from Wisconsin Whitewater is really interested in the ETSU football job, and wants it.
I figured ol' boy had been in the Gentlemen Jack too hard and was screwing with me, but he repeated it today.
Anyone heard anything like that or do I need to tell him to cut back on the hooch?

I think you need to get better sources for coaching hires.

The last time you did this, you tried to tell us who was going to replace Fisher DeBerry based off a conversation with some Air Force fans you tailgated with outside of Neyland.

He was a finalist for Austin Peay few months ago. I had heard that he turned them down. Has won many D3 national championships.

If this rumor is true then I hope he is one of our top candidates. Seems like he would make an excellent choice for head coach.

Whitewater and Mt. Union for years would always play for the D3 championship in Salem. For awhile it was a December tradition for me to watch both.
I see arguments for and against.
I would love to know who's officially been in Johnson City to interview vs. who Sander, Fulmer, and Noland have visited, as well as who actually conducted the interviews.

RE: An odd rumor deserving of a new thread
I was in Salem a couple of years ago at the same time as the playoff game and the whole team happened to be at the same hotel I was staying. Class group of people from the coaching staff, boosters and players, etc. A lot of the players were from the Chicago area; talented (I assume since they're in the National Championship and won) but didn't have any problems communicating with an older adult stranger with a different accent.

Wisconsinites are fun people, they like to party. The guy isn't perfect but in the case of the article I'll have linked below he did own up to being an idiot. Perhaps that why he wants the ETSU job, he can go there and know he'll be protected.

It's also circulating through social media that alum and current Tennessee Tech DC Billy Taylor is no longer a candidate.
