I'm tired of all these highly rated recruits making huge deals about where they are going to college. And E$PN, SI, fans of the big schools, etc. jsut egg them on.

I agree that making celebrities (or prima donnas) out of 17-18 year old incoming freshmen is way over the top----but E$PN (and SI) start the hype early because they need to plant the seeds of "stardom" early in their audiences minds in order to always have a dozen or so collegiate superstars to call upon to maximize the interest of their audiences year in and year out because that equals larger ratings (or more readers) which equates to more $$$$$$ for E$PN (or SI) and the rest of these entertainment providers.

Ideal situation for us. We knock off the top ranked team with the top ranked recruit on the road. I don' t see any downside.

This player could have easily gone to UK and been part of possibly the greatest recruiting class of all time. From what I understand he's relatively a quiet guy that doesn't readily seek media attention. Kansas is probably a better match for him

He actually didn't do anything special for the signing. He didn't broadcast it like most recruits. He had it behind closed doors with his coach, family, and a few others. Just signed the paperwork like a 2-star guy signing with a MAC school.

Wonder is he can hit free throws

ESPN feels they have to hype HS seniors because if Wiggins is as good as the scouts say he is he will only be at Kansas for 1 year like their last super Freshman guard.
