C. At least 6 Liberty programs would come into the SBC at number one in the conference - men's XC, Men's ITF, Men's OTF, Men's golf, swimming, women's basketball, and possibly volleyball for 7.

D. If you don't care about the above sports, fine. But be sure to include in your language that you think our football or men's basketball program would be the worst in the SBC, not our entire athletic's department as a whole.

So while our students score better on standardized testing than many current SBC schools, and our university is accredited, fully, by the same commission that accredits your school....you're going to tell me our academics are a joke because of a few biology courses? A few biology courses will alter your view of an entire university? What say ye of UALR, Arkansas State, ULM and so forth? Are their academics a joke too?


Please, use some facts when making such outrageous claims. No way we would be the worst in the SBC upon entering...6 of our programs would be at the top, and I am sure our women's track/XC programs and volleyball would be up there as well.

1) I'll admit I'm not too well versed on non revenue sports. You may compete well in golf, field hockey ect, and that is mainly because there isn't much of a gap in competition between major and minor conferences.

When it comes to the big sports, the sports that matter, you fall well short. Football is the lifeblood of the Sun Belt. That is your worst attribute. Like I've said, you would get (have gotten) molly-whopped by any SoCon/CAA ect team you played. It would kill the SOS of the conference and the eastern division in particular.

If all you have is field hockey, XC and other obscure, non-revenue sports as a redeeming athletic quality, I rest my case.

What a potential conference mate is concerned about is strength of football schedule, basketball prowess (you might fall in the middle in this respect) net revenue, ect.

2)Your bottomless pockets of unholy money might buy you nice facilites and smoke and mirrors museums denying scientific fact, but they haven't helped you win FCS playoff games, make baseball super regionals ect. That gives me little confidence that you weill be able to win SBC games or reach/win bowl games if you ever make it into the Sun Belt.

Again, in revenue sports, your success is limited to a very poor conference. NOTHING to hang your hat on.

3)Admission standards are important, sure, but as the one GaSo fan has stated multiple times: when it comes to the reputation of LU academics, it comes down to the caveman theory of creationism and the most over-the-top, overbearing founder and leader of all time.

There's always a market for religious extremists in the American South. That likely accounts for LU having enough demand to have decent average freshman SAT scores.

I've used just as many facts as you have. You spend the day bitching about how unfairly you're treated here, how you can't talk about athletics or anything else without someone posting a Falwell quote.

Idea - resort to creation insults when you have no factual basis to back up your ignorant statements you don't bother to research prior to spewing them forth on these boards. If you've even bothered to read my posts you'll remember I don't agree with 6,000 year old creation and accept the scientific age of 4.6 billion years or so.

As it were, you sad we would get killed playing SoCon/CAA teams...the objective stats say otherwise, unless you consider an average losing margin of 8 points to JMU a beating....yet as football fans we both know that is not the case.


I am willing to admit Liberty has image problems. You certainly can't accept that we aren't as bad athletically as you think we are. Yawn. Nothing new here, people can't admit when they're wrong or see objective facts through the trees.
