At this point, I am not sure what your point is?
I thought my point was obvious, which was placed in bold font.... However, since you were oblivious to my point (maybe I should have been more specific), I was substantiating what you posted above, and I added the word [never]:"the Big 12 was [never] or could EVER have been in a position to raid the far-stronger B1G or SEC."
Consequently, what I emphasized in my previous post was that a mismanaged conference on the brink of nonexistence could not be in the position to raid another power conference. Furthermore, its "asinine" attempt to lure Arkansas was a joke.

It's good news in that it massively increases the chances this group will be together for a while, but it makes the league look really really stupid for signing the TV deal now. The big issue with the TV deal was the fact that networks had no faith the current membership would be here 3 years from now. With this news I'd say the odds are way way better it will be. If he had waited on the full deal till after this football season with a good performance and a sense of stability the deal could have been worth considerably more.
I don't really see how. IMO, the $2 million we are getting per school is just the fair market value of what the AAC schools are worth. It's hard to admit it, but USF just isn't worth much out on the market, and neither are the rest of us.
To the extent that some AAC schools are marginally more valuable, the clause in the contract that distinguishes between A-group and B-group, and what ESPN can do if some of them leave, handles that about as well as a GoR could.
I agree with your assessment of the AAC's value. The networks weren't willing to pay more than $2 mil per school for a conference that will be comprised mostly of schools that made less $ in another conference. However, I disagree with you that USF "isn't worth much out on the market." It depends on which conference USF and certain other schools are placed in. If you placed USF in the SEC or BIG XII, the school would be worth much more than $2 mil per year and would generate more $$ in either conference. Likewise, if you placed UCONN or UC in the B1G, neither school would devalue the conference and would make substantially more $$.
Moreover, an actual example is Utah. A school that went from M-inimum W-age C-a$h to PAC 12 million$ and has been athletically anemic since joining the conference. Furthermore, another actual example is Tulane, which was once a member of the SEC. Imagine the amount of $$ Tulane could be making today if it had stayed in the SEC. Instead, it's worth only $2 mil in the AAC. Consequently, it's the conference a particular school is in that determines its value, along with the networks.
