G.I. Joe Retaliation
I just got back from the movie, saw it in 3D. See it in 3D, it translates well to the format.

OK, my first impression is simple; fixed. I hated the first movie, I felt there was just too much crap they missed on. The whole chemically controlled subordinates (Barroness, Vipers, etc) was very annoying.

In Retaliation, they bring things down to be just a little more realistic. It works great. To me, this film felt like a relaunch of the franchise. Like they knew they goofed it last time, so they were determined to make it right.

The story is solid and leads to an immediate sequel. The action sequences are good, a lot of realism in them this go around. No more lasers, they brought back the brass.

And finally, Cobra Commander.

Holy crap balls he looks awesome in this movie. I can't wait to see how his story progresses. The Commander has always been my favorite Joe character, and one of my favorite villians period. He's just so fun.

So, has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts?
