Congrats to App State and Georgia Southern. For all the abuse the Sun Belt takes, it was a great home for the Owls and I'm sure you will all enojy being a member as well. The SBC is getting 2 really good programs. Best of luck!

I went on the fcs board right now and told the App and Ga Southern fans to come here and sent them the link. You guys got some good newbies coming, top notch FCS schools w/ history in App and Ga Southern

I still go on the FAUOwlsNest and rant about how much I wish the SBC would stay together. I think if FAU and MTSU stayed here, this App St and Ga Southern pick up would look even better. From there I wanted to poach USM which was a very real option for quite sometime.
Sad that we will have to part very soon.

I am incredibly excited that FINALLY the Sun Belt is adding App State and Ga Southern . . Sun Belt football is already strong and it will only get stronger if we all hang together.

I have a couple friends that go to Texas St. Being a close descendant to Sam Houston, a trip to San Marcos and then San An and Austin was a trip worth taking For some reason UTSA doesn't really stand out to me as travel worthy as Texas State does. Damn shame. Best of luck Bobcats!

THANK YOU. This is an amazing thing for Appalachian State, and it wouldn't have happened without the support of all of you. Thank you for accepting us, and thank you for welcoming us with open arms. I would also like to let you know that Appalachian State brings with it class. Though there are a few posters from App State on here that like to cause ruckuses, we are a great group of fans in general. We know how to be classy, but we also know how to have fun! I am excited to join a conference that has fan bases just like ours, unlike many SoCon fans. The Sun Belt Conference is a great place to be, and I am brimming with energy at the idea of meeting so many new people from different parts of the region!

This is my first post to the boards as I just joined last night so forgive me if this is a little long. I would like to extend a long anticipated welcome to Georgia Southern and Appalachian State and a belated welcome to Texas State, Georgia State and Texas-Arlington. You guys are great additions for the Sun Belt. I, as many of you I am sure, will be happy when all this realignment subsides as it has caused some ill-will between friends. Living in Key West, I have loved going to FIU and FAU to watch my Trojans (even though we have struggled lately). You will be missed. Good luck in your new home. Same to MTSU and UNT. However, I am surprised at the discussions among the G5 fans of one believing they are superior to another as we are ALL in the same boat. The financial aspects that have caused some to seek new homes will equalize in the near future. My hope is that the schools who have left the SB will continue to prosper and remember their roots. This is a good conference with good people and great fans. As a die-hard TROY fan and contributor, I actually would welcome Jax State for a great rivalry contrary to many of my fellow alums. I have followed Georgia State boards and am shocked at so many fans complaining of being in the SB with FCS move-ups especially since they are also among that class. I believe that having them both in the same conference will fill both stadiums. That simply cannot be a negative thing. I understand rivalries but sometimes the emotions involved can be counterproductive and actually ridiculous. It is time to celebrate and move forward TOGETHER as a conference. I will be seeing you in Boone and Statesboro and I really want to see San Marcos (looks totally cool). Atlanta will be a great opportunity to see my favorite aunt and a good game. I make at least 3-4 games per year and have been to each stadium of all current members. Each one was a blast with wonderful people. I am confident the newbies will be just as terrific. I wish nothing but the best for them all as well as those who are departing.
