Cajuns to Unveil Facilities Expansion?
Next Thursday, the athletics department will unveil it's long awaited master plan.

Supposedly, it will involve significant renovations to Cajun Field, and all other facilities.

The price tag is reportedly around $120 million. The projects will be completed in phases. With the first ones allegedly begging in the spring.

We'll keep you updated.

That's exciting to here. I remember seeing a rendering of an expansion to Cajun Field, as well as seeing a video news story about the campaign you guys have been running out there to raise funds. I'm expecting to see some great things.

You shouldn't have to beg for it to begin.

The "begging" for the phase one money has already been done so they can begin construction this spring.

Sorry Slap, could not resist. COGS

RE: Cajuns to Unveil Facilities Expansion?
The entire plan and explaination of full financing will all be explained Thursday March 21st at a 11am presser.... People will be very excited by all of this as it will encompass the entire athletic complex. Friday the 22nd there will be a open house from 11am to 1pm at the Athletic Complex lobby so that the general public may talk to UL athletic officials and view the plan. I also believe that a open house will also be conducted at the spring football game on April 20th. This is very exciting for Ragin Cajun Nation and a very long time coming.....

If that's it, that's a HUGE rennovation.

That's been around a few years. Someone just took another stadium and put UL stuff on it.

Haha no, that's another University's renovation that a Cajun fan put in photoshop a few years ago and slapped UL logos on it for some laughs. I wish though! But the new one will be nice indeed.

Ok good. I was starting to get worried about Troy's reputation of having one of the best stadiums in the Sunbelt.

You probably should go ahead and get started anyway.

So is this going to be like La Tech's Quest for Excellence, or is there actually cash to back the plans?

Financing of this project has been secured...one thing that our previous President did do was leave the University completely debt free...

More than you know.

Probably the reason why they took so damn long in spelling it out.

Construction for the first phase is set to begin in May. Track/Soccer complex will get a new locker room facility as well.

This is a multi sport Master Plan and I believe phase one is the only one that deals with just football.

Phase 1 bowling in the stadium, I have heard that it will be just the S. Endzone but could be both. That money is in hand.

Phase 2 consist of the Track/Soccer facility (money in hand) and the complete renovation/large expansion to the athletic complex. From what I have been told is we are very close to having all the required money on hand.

Phase 3: I believe will include Upper Deck construction/renovation. I have heard that we will tear down the current UD and expand it to endzone to endzone, with luxury suites and pressbox. Also build a matching upper deck on the east side as well. That will be finance through the sale of suites and bonds. Suites are already sold according to my source. Upping capacity to 48-52K.
