I will hold my judgment of Liberty until I get an opportunity to "objectively" view a picture of their wome's tennis and volleyball teams. Only then shall I pass judgment.

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
I don't want Liberty because they are no where near Texas or the SBC footprint. Being a private school is fine with me. Though Jerry is a little more controversial then the Notre Dames and Baylors of the FBS world.

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
I actually think the Tennis win doesn't prove a whole lot. I think we've beat some SBC teams in Golf too, but what's that mean? We've beat a MAC team in football and it doesn't necessarily mean we fit in the MAC. The point is that Liberty (as I have stated before) has a lot to offer. No matter how the folks on here feel, I assure you that your presidents and ADs know well what LU could bring to the table. And, yes, I think LU could be very competetive right away in the SBC is several sports. Basbetball and Football will need some time, but the SBC FBS affiliation will aid recruiting immediately.

Could a factory school be better defined as one that has 62,000 students enrolled in online classes as does liberty? Glass house, Glass Factory School

"But no one cares about women's tennis!!!" says the Sunbelt peanut gallery. Sure, I agree with you, no one cares about women's tennis in the large scheme of conference realignment, but as a purely objective example of competitiveness and athletic fit, one can argue we have a better women's tennis program than WKU...

Objectivity....one would think a group of fans from these prestigious Sun Belt research universities would show a bit more of it...isn't that what big state school research factories are supposed to teach? I keep hearing "Liberty is not a good fit athletically for the Sun Belt" with purely subjective arguments to back it up. Also note there are more sports out there than football/basketball, believe it or not.

I can't get past the incredible condescension in this post.

The "Sun Belt peanut gallery"

"One would think a group of fans from these prestigious Sun Belt research universities would show a bit more [objectivity]... isn't that that what big state research factories are supposed to teach?"

Seriously? How can one read this post and not take a defensive and objective stance against you?

Just go away and stop being annoying. Everyone here has made it clear that we don't want you, yet you people just keep coming back to be annoying. Even your name "Campaign4Liberty" is annoying.

I would agree that the initial post was a bit overboard. Most of the SBC folks I've chatted with have been very open and fair. If folks take time to research they find that in this world of conference uncertainty, LU can offer a lot and a stable member.

Have you ever played liquor pong? "Evan Williams, by TKO in the first round, is STILL the liquor pong champion of the world!"

I said a stable member. We are growing and building our athletics programs at a time when most publec universities are scaling back. Just built a huge new baseball stadium that is better than most minor league parks. When the time comes, we are ready to add on to football yet again. We already have a regional TV network for Football, Basketball, and women's basktball. Most of the games air live on MASN and the majority of Football and Men's bball also air on ESPN3. LU is also launching a national TV network this fall called LFSN. We are ready right now as far as NCAA FBS level regulations. Fully funded in all scollys across all sports. I'm just saying that your precidents and ADs will not be so quick to dismiss LU.

Yeah but that was a good few years ago. I did it with Jack Daniels. It was a bad night.

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
I don't want WKU associated with Liberty, and it has nothing to do with your on the field success of failures. Liberty has every right as a private institution to be as closed minded and discriminatory as they want, but at the same time, the Sun Belt and every other conference has the right to turn down Liberty because of it's "standards". If you want to be different and hold yourselves to a supposed higher standard, then don't come crying when no one else wants to be lumped in with your ideals by having to call you a conference mate. I don't hate Christians, or even Evangelical Christians, but no one identifies with the policies Liberty has in place. You guys are more hardcore than even BYU, and notice they have been relegated to Independence, because they think they are above the MWC and the PAC-12 said no thanks to the crazy. Just my $.02.
