seems each school is to pissed off to sit in a room and make a simple dicision. Heard 3 schools let it be know they were gone within the next 3 year and couldn't care who the conference added.

Wonder what schools that was.

Would like to see the SBC, C-USA and America 12 conference just blow themselves up and all regroup in very tight regional conferences. None of us are better or worse then the other. Everyone needs to get over themselves and do what is best for the students, supporters and finances.

I'm assuming that list of 3 didn't include MT, NT, FIU, and FAU so it was mostly likely 3 of ASU, USA, UL, UALR, and WKU?

Was it the same person that told you that GSU and ASU would be offered an invite today?

At this point, does it matter? There is no real concensus on which programs should garner invitations right now.

My guess is WKU, USA, and UL (first time I ever typed that, Cajuns would be proud of me).

As bad as it hurts me to say this. It was ASU along with WKU and ULL. The freaking I'm the best team in the conference arguement is getting old.

ASU and UL are in a tough spot. They want to be in CUSA, they don't want to be in a conference with Southland schools, but they are not excited about an eastern shift where the viable candidates are located.

If all the rumors are true and WKU has a CUSA invite in hand (I"m still doubtful), I can understand WKU abstaining.....sort of.

This is the problem. ASU, UL and ULM had an agreement that they would support two Eastern programs as long as no SLC programs would be allowed at this time. It seems someone pushed Liberty in the East and another pushed for Sam Houston in the West and tempers might have flared afterwards.

You do realize ASU and ULL would love to be in the West with USM and LaTech.

Am I surprised we are pissed? No because I'm pissed.

But I'm not ready to burn the conference down or burn bridges
...because there is no viable alternative.

And....if this about NMSU I am certainly not ready to go all Sampson over THEM.

Who is in the room on our behalf? Dr. Hudson? Or Mohajir?

That sounds juvenile unless someone actually has an invite in hand. And, if so, why be pissed off about it. This makes no sense.

You had mentioned this before, I know, but I can't remember... Why is UL so intent on blocking any SLC teams from moving up?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think any of the SLC teams are in a position to make a move in the next five years (let alone announce it this summer), but not sure why the anti-SLC team sentiment.

Commenting about the original post, you can rest assured that our AD did NOT rock the boat. He will agree to anything anyone else suggests. Makes his life easier, as he doesn't have to take ownership of a decision if it fails, and he can claim he went along with a plan if it proves positive.

And have no fear, Texas State will be here until the lights go off. Texas State will not be leaving unless someone comes to beg us to join somewhere else.

1984 name change, McNeese, Northwestern St and Nicholls consitantly undermine our efforts to improve.

Good to know

As a Texas State fan we have long known that UNT did not want us in the Sun Belt. Apparently we had the support of ASU , UL and WKU to get in since UNT left. We have no desire for Sam Houston State (Sammy State). Who would support them since the Texas teams do not have a vote? I would support APP State, Georgia Southern and New Mexico State if it was my decision.
