RE: WBB All-MAC Selections
My only comment is that there have been extended periods during the current season when I was of the opinion that Inma was the best player on the team. She has great form and squares up to get a good look when she shoots and we can see the improvement in her offensive skills this year. She has the size and strength to be a factor on the boards. She also plays exceptional defense which was evident early last year. She shut down Bradford during the rematch game a couple of weeks ago.

So I don't know who she replaces on the 2nd team all league but I think that is where she belongs.

Inma can do some things that no one else on the team can. She is an incredible athlete. As sad as I am about seeing the seniors go, Inma's return for two more years is pretty good consolation. She is really fun to watch.

Agree Inma is deserving of second team honors. The fact she is a soph probably hurts her in the voting. Next year she will be the star. No one plays harder than her.

Inma is my fave on the team. I liked heer last year when she absolutely backed down from no one. She is very nice but on the floor she's got a little bit of a nasty streak that I just love. And who trnasforms their body the way she did (OK, Nathan Boothe)? It helped her game so much. She had to take a backseat this year but she and Dola will be THE players next year.

I personally don't think Dola has been playing well lately. Thank god, they go over yearly stats, and not her shooting % as of late. Love this team, but Inma and Dola should be 2nd team IMO. Naama for player of the year.

Remember, there is more to making the All-MAC team than offensive stats. Dola is a GREAT defender (reigning Defensive POY).

And I agree, she is an awesome defender. But when the shots aren't falling, shooters keep shooting. I wouldn't consider her a shooter, and she ends up hurting us more than helping sometimes. Against EMU she was 2/14 from the field, 2/7 from 3, and 2/5 from the line. Against Ball State she was 2/12 from the field, 1/8 from 3, and 3/4 from the line. Driving to the basket is when she makes plays. A terrific mid range jumper with that.

McCormick, Recker, Naama and Inma have the green light from three. Dola and Kyle should be more of in the flow of the offense shooters from deep.

Recker: .263 from three point range. Dola: .309 from three point range. Both have had awful shooting nights although Recker gets far fewer opportunities. I was pulling out hair I don't have watching Andola against BSU, though. STOP!!!!! SHOOTING!!!!

Recker is a shooter though. That is her game. She has been so nervous in her games, because she doesn't have long to make a point before she gets pulled off the court. Have heard in practice she is the best player on the court, but it hasn't translated yet. She was near 40% at Pandora Gilboa from 3.

I keep hearing that and she HAS made a couple lately- she was under .1 for awhile. Capotosto has impressed me more as a shooter at this point- she has no nervousness. Just flings it up there. Anyone know what is going on with Carver? She's out, she's in , she's out...

RE: WBB All-MAC Selections
I thought that last year Recker looked like a real project. Even early this year she looked tentative and consequently was ineffective in games. But there has been an improvement in her court presence (offensive and defensive) over the last half. I expect that she will evolve to being a valuable contributor next year.

I also have seen a few flashes of potential from Capotosto. But she seems to be a little behind Recker. The remaining players on the bench need lots of work if they are going to contribute in competitive situations.

I also have been a little disappointed in Dola's offense. She has taken a step backward recently. I would also say I have been disappointed in a lack of progress for Reid Lewis. My recall is that she was better last year.

I think by "not playing well lately" you are talking about her cold shooting and not her overall game. She is a streaky shooter and unfortunately the streak has been set on cold recently-----but she due, and when she is on a hot shooting streak, she often leads the team in scoring. I wouldn't be surprised to see her turn it around come tournament time because she is due.

I remember her being a good 3-point shooter even in her freshman year although she would often turn down an open three and drive to the basket instead into all the tall timber with mixed results.

Well, if the saying " defense wins championships" is true, we've got nothing to worry about it.

03-yes The women are only allowing only 51 PPG this year. UT has allowed 50 pts or less 18 times; 50 pts or more only 11 times.
