BB: Weekend scores March 1st-3rd
I know UALR beat Iowa 5-2 and MTSU beat up on the Florida Jag school of hard knocks (Kennesaw State)

ASU is playing at Sam Houston State and is down 2-1 in the 4th.

Jags got killed tonight, 12-2 by College of Charleston. Hoping the Jags can bounce back and take 2 out of 3.

Brutally cold for game at Reese Smith Field, snowing as the game ended 11-1.

ASU beats SHSU 5-3. Sam was in control until the 8th inning. Your team had some amazing defensive stops with some beautiful diving catches. Good game! But I will say the home plate ump was painfully inconsistent, for both sides.

About what I expected. You guys have an amazing starting rotation, and it will be very difficult to score in the early innings. We'll have to jump on the pen to win. We've only faced one lefty all year, so it'll be good to see what our lefty lineup can do.

We did lose one of our top hitters for the rest of the series with what looks like a Knee sprain. That will make hitting the ball much more difficult tomorrow.

I watched Caleb Smith on video a few times last year, and he sounded just as dominant tonight.

By the way, ASU fans would appreciate it if your board would quit calling us "Souey State" Its just repulsive, and downright offensive that we would ever be associated with those clowns.

USA rebounded from their loss to defeat the College of Charleston 3-0 today. The game was scoreless for the first 7 innings. Jag starter Jacob Noble turned in 7.2 innings of 3 hit, shutout baseball with 8 KS. Kyle Bartsch earned his second save of the year by striking out all 3 Cougar batters he faced.

ASU struggling early against Sam Houston today down 4-0 in the 4th inning. Most we've given up in the first 3 innings all year.

Sophomore DH Caleb Adams with 3 home runs today! I love what our new guys have been able to do this early in the year. Let's get the sweep tomorrow.

My apologies, I hit the edit instead of the quick reply button, so it looks like I edited your post.

I was trying to say that ASU got smothered by Sam Houston 8-1 today. They have a starting rotation most teams would dream of. We are now 7-3 heading into the Rubber Match tomorrow down in Huntsville.

I'm very angry about it. :muttering: The only way to redeem yourself is to delete the Georgia Southern stuff from my Harlem Shake thread.

Thanks! These three weekend starters are all lefties. I don't think I've ever seen a teams 1-2-3 pitchers all left handed before. I didn't get the chance to make this one but our pitchers had a rough time with walks. Eight of them. Could have been a completely different game, especially if you guys could have done something in the first when the bases were loaded. Good luck tomorrow!

RE: BB: Weekend scores March 1st-3rd
ASU loses the rubber match 11-6. We had to use our best relievers too early, and then they hit around the rest of the pen. Playing without what is one of our best hitters and best fielders the last two days really hurt. Made us lefty heavy against an all lefty pitching staff, and forced us to play two guys in the outfield with little to no experience out there.

Hopefully we'll have him back for UAB next weekend, who rumor has it, actually has a right handed starting pitcher.

UTMartin comes to Jonesboro for a quick game Tuesday.
