This could be an incredibly exciting soccer league. Last year Gtown and Creighton finished in the top 5. Marquette was a top 20 team and St. John's and Xavier were both ranked in the top 25.

With these 10, you have a strong case for the second best league in the country.

Any word on whether FS1 or FS2 and the other olympic sports? Would be awesome to see some of these games on TV!

Soccer will definitely be an elite sport for this league. Creighton has been to the College Cup (Final Four) the last two years and have made the tournament like 19 out of the last 20 years...

The downside is Creighton is far away from the eastern block of the C7 and they cant be happy about traveling way out there for a non revenue sport.

3.5 million and a seat at the big boy table is more than enough for them to make the trips.

Not to mention that soccer probably doesn't fit the mold of a traditional non-revenue sport at CU since we're consistently in the top ten in soccer attendance with one of the best stadiums ..It's certainly not golf or cross country

Believe me, our soccer coach (Bolowich) is probably ecstatic about joining this new league. Definitely a step up from the Valley soccer league and soccer actually breaks even for us financially.

they went to florida and were willing to go to texas, so nebraska isnt much of a stretch. actually closer than houston,dallas and miami

Soccer could actually be a revenue sport for the C7 (albeit, not a high producing one). I believe some schools come close to breaking even on it, and if they could get a $100,000 a year media deal they could start producing money. And I think that is a possibility.

Anyway, the conference could be highly competitive, even dominant in soccer.
