Could the Big East be a 7 team conference for a year? It does seem that schools that are being added to the Big East could potentially wait a year before they're able to join and 4-5 months notice seems a bit fast to me.

But congrats to C7 on retaining what is really yours. C7 w/out the Big East brand doesn't makes sense to me. Best of luck to yinz.

I don't think there's a chance that it'd be only a 7 team conference....

I think worst case, it's 9 teams with Xavier and Butler.... Also, Creighton has such a cheap exit fee, if they're going to be in- they can come 1st thing.

Thx stever. I'll always be a Big East hoops fan regardless if Pitt is in the league or not. I'd like to see Duquesne added at some point so there is local interest here again. But I totally understand if they don't get added.

We could technically do it, but we most likely wont. ND might come with us for one season if the ACC isn't ready for them. Creighton also only has a 500K exit fee, thats another option since that wont obliterate a conference like what we're about to do to the A-10.

I don't think Creighton's fee is even 500k.. thought 50k actually

If Notre Dame is team #10 in year one, then it's a 12 team league in the 2nd year.
