Butler's just not very good right now.
BU excused probably its most talented player weeks before the season. Problem being, he was also the point guard and was unique on the team for penetration (etc)
They were able to hold in together with masking tape for a while, but at some point not having a D1 point guard is difficult to overcome.
I'm sure they'll make the Tournament, but I doubt they can accomplish much more than that

yeah a PG is tough to overcome....
Butler(and VCU) aquitted themselves very well in the A10 this year- no real drop off at all this year moving up conferences.

How do you think you guys are going to do against that press? They are soft inside, but that press is insane.

I wouldn't guess very well. But, they do have 8 days of prep so who knows what they'll have put together. Butler 3-5 position is significantly better than VCU, so they'd do well if they can get into the front court without too much issue with a modicum of consistency

thing is when you have a pressing team like that- it can get away from you in a hurry if you make 1-2 mistakes it's a 6-0 run in 20 seconds...
And you wonder how the atmosphere on Saturday will impact Butler's guards. Sounds like VCU could be absolutely rocking.

Looks like it will be one heck of a game in the battle for second in the A-10.
