Of course not your are intitled to your opinion as wrong as it may be.....
Just kidding

Anyone. Including ECU and UCF.
And you would be dumping the most desirable and competitive teams available for closer road trips to sub-par teams. A rivalry is built not only on a common history but a history of competitive games. 20 years of playing North Texas and beating them 16 or 18 times would do nothing to generate any sort of rivalry. It would be an easy road trip but that is about it.
You can't win 16 or 18 of 20 against Rice (13-7 last 20 games) so why would you be able to do it to UNT?
That aside, the reality is that I don't think either slate (UTEP, UTSA, UNT, Tulsa, LT, Rice or UConn, Temple, ECU, Cincy, UCF, USF) does much to boost attendance, barring a ranked team or a hometown rival like Rice. People come to see superstar teams, and none of those teams qualify. Other than that, people come to see the home team. It helps if it's a longtime rival, because fandom is about habits and tradition. USC-Notre Dame and Celtics-Lakers don't suffer from being across the country from each other.

The 16-18 was just an arbitrary number I threw out there to make a point.
But we seem to be speaking the same dialect here.....
The Big East (in FB) has become what the best of CUSA was.
However in basketball its a huge upgrage even with you guys leaving.

What you guys are missing is the fact that regional rivalries create excitement and fan interest, which leads to higher gameday revenue. Not to mention money that could be saved on travel costs. What's so hard to understand about this?
Glad you've moved to this board.
Are you wrong with your opinions? Obviously, superficially, the answer is no. You're entitled to your opinion. If you want to watch directional Louisiana schools every weekend, that's certainly your prerogative.
But as for what's good for the school, then the fact that you're in the minority should clearly indicate that you're wrong. If most fans have communicated a non-existent interest in playing the regional alphabet soup conglomerates you inexplicably idolize, then you should realize there are serious problems with that strategy. Fan enthusiasm is about 20x more important than your grossly misplaced faith in "regional rivalries" and the laughably insignifcant 2-4K traveling fans you cite.

There is no way the Big East can force us to play in this conference for another year with that TV payout and those teams. I hope Jurich and Dr. Ramsey take the incompetent admins to court and sue our way out. I don't care if we have to go independent for a year. This conference is a joke and doesn't deserve our program.

That conference helped Louisville get into the ACC, I think Louisville will be ok for a year.

You can cut a check for 20 million if you'd like. The price has been set for what it takes to get out in 1 year, and it doesn't sound like you want to pay it.

Good luck finding another conference for 2013. The ACC isn't ready for you just yet.

I think gocards is a BB fan, If not, he must realize where FSU, UM, VT were to football afew years ago, and where they are now. Good luck, the money may be better, but in the long run,.......
