Toledo is most overrated MAC program. Last MAC Championship for Toledo was 2004. That video was full of deceit and lies. There is no category all-time past, or recent that Toledo is #1 in anything when it comes to MAC football. Just think they should be called out as it is so blatant. Not one category except maybe scandals and point shaving.

Pick your timeframe. 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, or all-time. They dont lead the MAC in any category yet they claimed it in that video.

MAC wins? Nope
Overall winning percent both in conference and out? Nope
Total wins? Nope

They arent even close in any category

The Rockets have the most FB wins of any MAC program since the inception of the BCS in '98 and Miami isn't close(Miami 94 BGSU 96 NIU 109 UT 110). I believe UT also has the most Bowl wins by a MAC team 8(not including a vacated win by UNLV) since 1962. During that period UT has appear in 13 Bowl games. Miami has been in 8 Bowls with 5 wins during that period. Oh yeah, UT has a 35-0 streak in its history. I haven't had a chance to breakdown MAC wins, # of rankings in Final AP Poll, etc, but given a chance, I will. If you want hear where the UT FB program is vs Miami's simply ask UCinn fans and players. As far as, the attempted point shaving in FB and actual in BB, it was not institutional in nature and did tremendous damage to those programs. Instead hurting of other MAC programs, it actually helped them have better Conference records, not the Rockets. So what's the RedHawks' excuse?

How hard would've it been to find out the correct number of UT MAC titles and winning percentages, etc.?

Wasn't it Amstutz that 'promised' a player a few years back that Toledo would be playing in the Big East in a season or two?

I think that was the TU coach... Not sure which one..

IIRC...he told Barry Church that the Rockettes would be zooming off to the Big East shortly. I also think that when the kid's coach realized that Toledo Tom was a big fat liar it made it difficult to recruit there again

Not at all.

What's funny is they aren't 2nd in most categories. Fewer MAC wins than BG, fewer all time wins than BG, lower winning % in the MAC than BG, lower overall win % than BG, all time losing record to BG.

Maybe in next year's video.

Tale of the tape-Miami vs. Toledo football:

1) All time record: UT 491-405-24 .547 pct.; Miami: 669-415-44 .615 pct.
2) MAC championships: UT 8 outright, 2 co-championships, 3 MAC West titles (when not MAC champ) and one MAC West co-championship (when not MAC champ); Miami: 13 outright MAC titles, 2 co-championships, 2 MAC East titles when not MAC champ.
3) Major bowl record: UT: 8-5 .615 pct.; Miami: 7-3 .700 pct

They always use this defense whenever you bring up the overall losing record against BG. "But we won the last so many...and we have this record in the last so many years...and you stopped playing us because we beat you by this many back in this year" and on and on.

..it's from the Marshall "playbook" (since their overall MAC record was so poor) although it is somewhat relevant to look more at recent history (say, last 15-20 years perhaps).

At Miami, we had a really bad stretch from the late 80's to the mid 90's and now find ourselves in another "funk" as we speak (in both football and b-ball actually) except for that surprise MAC title and bowl win 2 years ago when we had a good coaching staff.

Not sure who made this video and why they used false information...but hey, at least we're not bgsuCKS.

UT does have 10 MAC Championships + 6 more Division Championships, for a total of 16. It's just clever wording they are using for that stat.

You might want to get your facts straight. If Amstutz did tell Barry that, it did not make it more difficult for UT to recruit Penn Hills HS (where Barry is from) - we've had 5 guys come from Barry's HS sign with UT since Barry came to UT.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers from, but they are wrong.

Edit: And UT has finished top 25 in the AP poll in 6 seasons, not 4 like you claim. And 6 is more than Miami's 5.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers from, but they are wrong.

Either way, if you are counting MAC East Titles than Miami still has more Titles than Toledo, so the video shouldn't have told recruits they had the most in the MAC.

Counting West titles is kinda cheesy,IMO. You could win a division title and be the league's third or fourth best team some years.
