The BE deal was for all Tier 1 & 2. The B1G will not be, some Tier 2 is on BTN. So they will not get $400M for all Tier 1 and some Tier 2 content.

Get UC and UConn, create the ACC network, factor in ND with their 5 games....would that be enough to get into the $25 million a year range?

Thoughts....

If UConn and Cincy aren't worth crap in the BE how will they raise your per team payout? They would just be more mouths to feed. How will the ACC start its own network if ESPN and Raycom own all your rights? They aren't going to just give those back out of the goodness of their hearts

You don't honestly believe Cincinnati and UConn are really only worth $2M each in total do you? The word on the street was the BE had limited value before Louisville and Rutgers jumped ship. Louisville jumps to the ACC and suddenly they are worth enough to increase everyone's payout in the ACC by a couple million? What changed over a matter of months?

As Frank has stated on here before, the networks have the Big East by the balls because they know they have no choice but to take what they are offering. Nobody is competing for the product. That is why the C7 will likely make more money than them (Providence/DePaul greater than UConn? Child please).

Bottom line is in reality teams are worth whatever networks are willing to pay to keep things going forward. ESPN does not want the ACC to suffer and is doing whatever it takes to justify geting their TV contract on par with the other Power Conferences.

They don't have to to get their overall #'s to 40mm for a 14 team league.

Getting around 20mm per school for a similar amount of per-school content to what the PAC got it for is certainly realistic for the B1G. Combined with payouts from the BTN, Rose & OB shares, ncaa credits etc. it can get them there for less than 300mm per year.

Their current distributions are mid-20's.

They get a 10mm per school tv deal boost.

4.8mm from the 2 big bowls as well.

Add in playoff money...

40mm.

You need to deduct the current Bowl and BCS dollars from that mid-20's number.

You need to deduct the current Bowl and BCS dollars from that mid-20's number.

1- Current bowls would drop MAYBE by 2-3mm MAX. A lot will be replaced and B1G travels well enough to take advantage of the fact bowls are paying more and more these days.

2- Current BCS- 20mm or so per conference. So roughly 1.4mm per B1G member or so.

So at most you are talking about a reduction of 3.4-4.4mm bucks. This is before we have a handle on exactly how much all of the new postseason format will pay out. I expect that 3.4-4.4mm to get taken care of by new revenue.
