Great exposure for our program, plus we have tons of alums in the Chicago area. Our AD has been there all weekend talking with wealthy Miami alumnae hoping to get some donations to finish off the indoor practice facility and a few other projects.
The choppy ice completely took away our speed game, which is most of our offense (Miami is not a particularly good offensive team, we have been winning by giving up the fewest goals in the country). The CCHA race will likely go down to the last game.
Couldn't agree more. In the long run, having these special types of games will pretty much always benefit us, especially if the payout from the TV and ticket sales turns up well. I'm sure Sayler is cooking up something good for the football program with him already finding some money for the Goggin improvements. He'll have a lot more freedom with soliciting donations too with the new rules, a good thing for us.
Sorry if I missed it, but what are the new rules? Is the development office letting the AD go directly after donors?
In the past, you couldn't try and solicit donations for athletics from those who had just contributed money to academics, and vice versa. Some time in the last year they scrapped that, giving us freedom to "double dip" so to speak.

Miami with a 5-4 win over Lake Superior State tonight, moves to a three point lead after a WMU shootout win.
