Big East Bowls
You guys hearing anything about future bowls? I've heard whispers that you guys will be losing both the Pinstripe and Champs. Pretty sure the Champs will be going to the Big 12.

RE: Big East Bowls
They've lost a spot in the Boise game that we know for sure:)

I'm surprised we haven't heard more news by now about the future bowl cycle. The non-playoff bowls may be set up completely different than in the past. Every bowl could have 4 partners in alternating years for all we know.

If things continue to go as they have for the last year, then we will get some more CUSA teams, for CUSA pay, with CUSA coverage, all leading to the BE taking over the current CUSA Bowl line up....where we probably will play CUSA.

RE: Big East Bowls
We haven't heard, but I think most believe BE will lose Pinstripe as a minimum. I personally believe with USF and UCF in Central FL, the Be will more than likely keep Champs and Belk with ECU. Those 2 bowls along with a Liberty bowl will be the main BE bowls, IMO, along with some other filler bowls,

Champs and Belk are almost certainly gone for the BE.

Wouldn't be surprised since the powers that be have taken everything else from Cincinnati, UConn and USF.

Odds are if my Bearcats win the Big East they will be pitted up against the SEC #9 at the Liberty Bowl and the runner up goes to some bowl in Shreveport in the middle of December to play a Sun Belt team.

I'm glad the B12 is no longer involved in the Pinstripe Bowl (Syracuse fans, it isn't because WVU lost)...

A baseball stadium in NYC is no place for a late December bowl game. The ACC and B1G can have it...

I just hope the Belk can be saved. If the SEC or B10 want it though they'll get it.

They'll probably keep the Belk and Beef O' Bradys bowls. Russell Athletic and Pinstripe are as good as gone, along with the BCS game although that's understandable.

No bowl is going to hitch its wagon to Nbe, which might not even exist next month. CUSA's membership and stability can guarantee similar stability to any NonBCS bowl.

1. Belk vs a downgraded ACC team.
2. St Pete versus CUSA
3. Liberty (vs CUSA since SEC won't be able to provide a team)
4. Military vs MAC
5. Independence vs CUSA or SBC.

The ACC is on the record saying they want the BE out of that bowl.

It was a $2M game for B12; nothing to sneeze at. On the other hand, with SEC/B12 champs bowl, and B12 down from 12 teams to 10 when Pinstripe Deal was struck, the B12 is no longer in a position to provide a team to Pinstripe. The Houston Texas bowl will be upgraded and played in a fine domed stadium, so Pinstripe is really a nonissue for B12.

That is an ACC tie in. The MAC has no tie in to the bowl despite being picked the last two years.

My guess is ACC pursues other bowls.

Unless they change the rules for bowl eligible teams, we're going to see even more of this though. As conferences add more conference games and phase out FCS schools, fewer power conf teams will be eligible. There will be plenty of bowl bids to go around. How good those bowl games end up being is a different question.

RE: Big East Bowls
Oh I'm not worried about the number of bowl games or Big East teams not getting a bowl if eligible. That won't be an issue. What I am worried about is will there be bowls any of us want to go to? I've been to the Liberty twice, it's alright but I don't know if I'd ever go back. The DC bowl is trash as long as it's played in RFK. You couldn't pay me to ever go back to Legion field.

Can the BE even get the Liberty for its champions bowl? Where does Conf USA send their champ now?
